Alexander May 28 D.C. woman admitted in court Thursday that she fatally stabbed and robbed a lawyer in an upscale hotel after answering an online ad he had posted seeking sex with a man. Jamyra Gallmon, 21, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the Feb. 9 killing of international law firm lawyer David Messerschmitt. he was found dead in Donovan Hotel stabbed repeatedly in the abdomen, groin and heart. Gallmon plotted a robbery, tricked Messerschmitt into thinking she was a man, esserschmitt texted his wife that he would return to their Capitol Hill home in about an hour. Gallmon's roommate and alleged girlfriend, Dominique Johnson, 19, also of the District, pleaded guilty to a charge of conspiracy to commit robbery for her role in events on the day of the murder, officials said.  Widow, Kim Vuong in March asked the public for help finding her husband’s assailant. 7.44 pm Johnson waited outside and wore a hooded sweatshirt to hide her identity. Once inside the room, as Gallmon tried to rob Messerschmitt, he fought back.  Gallmon had stolen about $40 from the victim and his Metro SmarTrip card, which they used minutes after the attack on a District bus. Gallmon's cover story was when victim grabbed her arm, caused a flashback to a time when she had been assaulted.

May 28, 2015 update Two people who were in a car with a U.S. airman shooter when he drove to a North Dakota Wal-Mart and opened fire inside the store had no idea what he was going to do, police said Wednesday. Grand Forks Police Lt. Derik Zimmel said Marcell Willis, 21, made up a reason to go to Wal-Mart around 1 a.m. Tuesday. The two people with him stayed inside the car while he went into the store, where he killed one worker and injured another near the self-checkout area in front of the store, then killed himself. Police have yet to find a motive behind the shooting. Zimmel said the people who were with Willis also do not seem to know why he did it. Zimmel did not reveal what ties the passengers had to Willis

But...  97 percent claim was taken from a study paper by Australian John Cook, Climate Communications Fellow for the Global change Institute at the University of Queensland, and his colleagues, published in the journal Environmental Research Letters in May, 2013. The paper says nothing about the would-be dangers of climate change and it counts the number of publications, rather than the number of scientists, in support of human-made climate change. ... analysed somewhere between 11,944 and 12,876 papers... only 64 of these explicitly state that humans are the primary cause of recent global warming. A reexamination of their data brought that number down to 41. That is half a per cent or less of the total, rather than 97 percent.

On March 13, a man named Richard Kirk pleaded not guilty to the first-degree murder. He did not deny killing but  Kirk's attorneys argue that the legally purchased marijuana edible he had consumed before the incident had so clouded his mind that he couldn't be held culpable for his actions. Richard began being verbally abusive, put his paychecks in a private account rather than the couple's joint account, ran up a massive amount of credit card debt and three tax liens from the IRS, the last two being issued in 2010, wife was covered by a $340,000 life insurance policy.

2 arrested May 22, 2015 SC: 2 teen dropped off to fish found walking with stolen guns, ammo WSOC Charlotte‎ the boys, ages 14 and 15, were arrested Friday night. York County deputies say the boys were dropped off by their parents at a pond to fish and instead broke into a home and stole multiple firearms, which they threw to the ground while officers pursued them. Officials say the juveniles found a safe in a bedroom closet and took two .38-caliber revolvers, a .45-caliber pistol and two holsters. (Their parents didn't drop them off to fish)

(WSAZ) -- The Charleston Town Center Mall... open but several areas being roped off with crime tape.. shooting in Parking Garage at the Charleston Town Center at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, mall remained open, but 10 stores closed for the day...fight between two groups of men, when one of them fired at least six to seven shots. "Gun shots started going off, about six gun shots and cars started speeding out...one of the bullets hit Tevon Spencer, 22, originally from New York City, who was sitting in the vehicle.
