1 arrest, FBI investigation February 4, 2014 Somali Derie O. Mohamed Arrested For School Trespass Somali man Derie O. Mohamed trespassed into a Tonawanda New York school without signing in and alarmed officials after he told them he was there to tell them he "glad that security was tight at the school because of Sandy Hook" and asked if teachers should be armed against gunmen. Suspect was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal trespassing, and then he told officers “I am not a terrorist, I just visited Somalia”. The FBI also knew had just returned from terrorism-hub Djibouti, and interviewed Mohamed before sending him to jail. He had previously been arrested in 2010 for stealing alcohol from a gas station, and in 2006 for evading police in a long chase for which he was charged with obstructing government administration, reckless driving, speeding, passing through a red light, improper right turn, failure to yield and failure to obey police. Various counterjihad bloggers speculated on his motives.
