- May 19, 2013 In northeastern Pennsylvania township of Coolbaugh on 1:15 a.m. taxi Driver Michael West allegedly lost control of his taxi, and collided head-on with a fire police van. West was killed and four emergency responders were hurt. Investigators believe the taxi which was carrying no passengers accidentally slid into the path of the oncoming Coolbaugh Township fire police van. - August 17, 2013 Pickup Crosses Over Median To Hit Vegas-Bound Bus An Eagle tours bus with 30 tourists from China was struck in the side by an oncoming pickup truck which crossed over the median and overturned. The pickup driver was killed. The bus drove into the desert. Bus driver Jimmy Ming Giang, suffered major injuries and airlifted to Las Vegas, four bus passengers and the tour bus guide received minor injuries.
Man Saves Drunk Who Crashes His Parked Car Head On Sunday September 22, 2013 David Jensen pulled his SUV over near Grand Forks, N.D., and turned on his flashers in the night to send a text. Then Tracy Ludwig, 49, of Fisher, Minn for "no known reason" crossed over the dividing line and evidently without taking careful aim, crashed head on into the only vehicle she could have hit for miles. Jensen quickly gained his senses after his air bag went off, and dragged the injured woman out of her now burning car just moments before it exploded. The woman faces a recovery and a drunken-driving allegation, but evidently won't be charged with vehicular assault
Monday October 21, 2013 Drunk driver flees police, wrong-way head on crashes into truck 55-year-old Edmonds man tried to avoid arrest for drunken driving and wound up dead, injured an 86-year-old driver and two Snohomish County sheriff's deputies. The suspect crossed the center lane and hit the white truck head on, and then spun around and hit a guardrail. One squad car hit the suspect, then the other squad car slammed into both vehicles. The suspect driver died at the scene.
Menlo Park Sikh couple mowed down by drunk who also hit car October 24, 2013 54-year-old Marjorie Reitzell who has struggled with alcohol and drug addiction drifted into the bike lane on Chilco Road and struck 45-year-old Kamal Singh and 50-year-old Balbir Singh from behind, throwing the couple into the air and killing them, orphaning their three teen children. She then crossed the lane divider and struck a car head-on carrying four teenagers and stopped when she crashed into a tree.

The driver who fled with a small child was identified and contacted by police, but did not turn himself in.
Fatal NH Median Crossing Crash Was a Suicide Attempt December 7, 2013 Former Fortune 500 executive Robert Dellinger told police a cover story that he was only trying to kill himself when he drove his pickup truck across the grassy median of a highway and slammed into an SUV. It went airborne and sheared off the top of the other car, killing an expectant couple in connection with the crash, which killed 29-year-old Jason Timmons, 24-year-old Amanda Murphy, who was eight months pregnant and their unborn child, all from Vermont. Dellinger is charged with reckless manslaughter. Dellinger argued with his wife over his medications, left the house and began to drive around, growing despondent.

All were killed. One driver driving the correct direction filmed the crash which is circulating on the internet. The same day, there was another wrong-way driver in Diamond Bar, California. when Olivia Culbreath, age 21 killed six people drove her 2013 Chevy Camro the wrong way while speeding at 100 mph and DUI. She hit a Ford Explorer head-on before dawn and was arrested.
In World War II, kamikaze pilots would volunteer to fly their airplanes into ships and boats as a military target. A car driving in the wrong lane is not an accident, but authorities would have no clue who or why somebody might be recruited for such a crash. Who would go to this much trouble to kill a car full of college students?
