Was driver taking his yard truck illegally onto the street just to kill somebody? Why was driver not charged for driving yard truck illegally and killing someboy?
February 25, 2014 Woman Dragged, Killed By Yard Truck In Bellevue A yard truck meant to move trailers in a freight yard was probably not authorized by his employer to venture out into a busy intersection near a Safeway and Coca Cola plant. As it turned, it failed to yield to a woman pedestrian and hit her, running over and dragged a woman who died as the truck plowed into the sidewalk. The driver and victim were not identified, nor was it explained what the driver was doing driving on a public street. Victim later identified as Judith Lopez-Guerrero. The truck driver, 57, of Snoqualmie is cooperating with police, said Bellevue Police Ofc. CarlaIafrate. The death was ruled as accidental, not a terrorist vehicle deliberate attack. Truck driver was never identified apparently never charged even though it is not legal to drive such a truck on a public road, and he had no business being outside the yard.

Bellevue walker fatally struck by truck
Posted on 25/02/2014 by TOM
A woman was struck and killed by a truck Monday near a busy Bellevue intersection, police said.
Police responded to the crash scene, in the 12400 block of Northeast 12th Street, shortly after noon following a serious crash involving a truck and a pedestrian, Bellevue Police spokeswoman Carla Iafrate said.
Iafrate said the woman was crossing the street when she was hit by a yard truck as it was traveling south on 124th Avenue Northeast and turning west on Bel-Red Road.
The victim may have been dragged after she was hit.
“We don’t know if she was in a crosswalk because where she was starting and where she ended up might be two different places,” Iafrate said.
Officers at the scene said there was no indication that the truck driver was impaired.
The intersection of 124th Avenue Northeast and Bel-Red Road was closed following the crash.

Shunt truck
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A Shunt truck, known in the U.S. as a Spotting tractor, Terminal tractor, Yard truck, Yard Dog, Yard jockey, mule, etc. is a semi-tractor intended to move semi trailers within a cargo yard, warehouse facility, or intermodal facility, much like a switcher locomotive. It is rare for these vehicles to be onpublic roads. The Shunt truck of this design seems to be distinctly North American. There are only two manufacturers, who use generally the same specs, located in North America.
Distinctions between a Shunt truck and a regular Truck are several and noticeable:
- A distinctive single person cab offset to the left of the engine.
- A very short wheelbase, usually with a solidly mounted single rear axle.
- A low power Diesel or alternate fuel engine with an automatic transmission.
- A fifth wheel with an integrated lifting mechanism designed to allow the semi-trailers legs to remain in the down position during movement. 15 inches (380 mm) and 70,000 lb. of hydraulic lift are typical.
- 12-gauge steel side wall Cab construction with 1⁄2-inch (13 mm) steel floors for protection in abusive & dangerous work environments.[1]
- 360 Degree View to facilitate five to six moves an hour.

Don't trust that anyone driving in a cage is aware of you. I do a lot of running on streets and most drivers don't even think to look for peds. RIP
To me sounds like the truck was taking a free right (west) and she was crossing intersection. Typical they look left and don't see the ped. stepping in the crosswalk. So sad, RIP.
Has anybody considered the possiblity of a deliberate attack? When there is no motive or cause, you can't rule out any possibility.
I'm sure the driver was completely upset and that poor woman, may she rest in peace.

I was on my way to an appointment, running exactly on time, when I ran into this road closure. At first I saw the traffic backed up and thought to myself that I should have taken another route. Then I got detoured and cussed under my breath at the traffic light taking so long. When I got to my appointment and asked about the road closure I of course felt like a complete self-absorbed idiot. Why do we get upset about a 10 minute inconvenience, not knowing that someone's mother, sister, or daughter lays dead on a cold rainy road. Please forgive me from heaven dear lady. Rest in Peace. And I pray that God will comfort your family.

Woman Killed by Yard Truck on 12th Ave in Bellevue, WA after Pedestrian Accident
Bellevue, WA -- A woman was killed on 12th Avenue after a yard truck crashed into her as she was crossing the street. It happened on Monday, just after noon, and the woman's name hasn't been provided yet.
Apparently, the woman was crossing 12th Avenue on foot near Bel-Red Road on Monday afternoon when she was hit by a yard truck that had just turned onto 12th Avenue. She was killed at the scene and the truck driver wasn't harmed.
So far, no charges have been filed against the yard truck driver.
The idea is that the driver can just be any employee of the trucking company, not a driver with a CDL. What was this yard truck doing driving down a regular street? In all likelihood, the chances of this vehicle actually being licensed for driving in city traffic is quite low, based on my experience.
Furthermore, consider that a yard truck isn't really like a vehicle at all - it's more like a bulldozer or a forklift. It's a large machine on wheels designed to transport trailers, not drive around in the street.
I highly doubt this yard truck should have been on the street in the first place.

I'm so sorry for the poor lady that lost her life, and the driver, but I do have a haunting question. What was a yard truck doing on any road that has pedestrians? It's called a yard truck for a reason.
I was in my car .. stopped at the red light after she was struck. This is a very tragic time and something I won't forget. Prayers to the family and friends of the victim she was so young. Rest in peace :(
I work across the street at the Nissan pre Owned building and i did not see the accident. But i do know that the man driving was bawling his eyes out! And i did see the ladies body laying in the road, I really hope That God blankets both the Driver and the Family through this difficult time, God knows that Man has to carry that pain for some time, and the Family has the loss of a daughter. very tragic
@dorimonsonfan Women don't usually take such a violent way out. They would generally do pills, cut a vein somewhere that wouldn't leave a mess...I wonder if she was texting with headphones on. Watch out, people! They both could have been. What a tragedy.
My wife was on a Metro bus with some students. She said the bus arrived at the scene shortly after it happened. Several people on the bus got sick and at least one man broke down crying.
