February 10, 2014 Mail Bomb Kills Retired Tennesee Lawyer Near Lebanon, Tennesee retired lawyer John Setzer died after an unknown package sent in the mail blew up and seriously injured his wife. He had worked on bankruptcy cases and had served as as pastor in small "country churches". The wife died of her injuries,and a note was found with the bomb. Police would not reveal a motive, but experts speculated it could be revenge from a former client, like patients of doctors later murdered them and Chris Dorner. 49 year old Richard Parker who was the victim's neighbor and son-in-law pled not guilty to all charges including first-degree murder, premeditated first-degree murder and unlawful possession of a prohibited weapon. Parker was been represented by Setzer after he burned down a house he was renovating in 1990 and negotiated probation and restitution.
