“MINNESOTA ISIS-BOUND MEN” GO TO TRIAL powerline charged ten “Minnesota men” (i.e., Somali Minnesotans) with seeking to join ISIS. One of the ten is believed to have made it to Syria and is unavailable for trial. Six of the ten have pleaded guilty. This past October a grand jury added a charge of conspiracy to commit murder overseas to the original charge of lending material support to a foreign terrorist organization. Today the remaining three defendants — Hamza Ahmed, Mohamed Abdhamid Farah and Guled Ali Omar — are set for trial in federal court before Judge Michael Davis.

"To spare her from carrying the burden that maybe she had done something to hurt her family," Borcina said in the deposition. Borcina originally told authorities he put the ashes in the room. He later agreed to pay $5 million to settle a lawsuit filed by the children's father, Matthew Badger. Madonna Badger, an advertising executive in New York, and Borcina were dating at the time and escaped the fire, which killed 7-year-old twins Grace and Sarah Badger, 9-year-old Lily Badger and their maternal grandparents, Lomer and Pauline Johnson.
