- April 30, 2014 2 Alaska State Troopers Killed In Confrontation Over Sofa Sale 2 Two officers who had had been featured on a National Geographic Alaska State Troopers reality show were killed in Tanana, Alaska in a confrontation that started over the sale of a couch that required backup police. Nathaniel Lee Kangas, 19, is accused of shooting the officers. The elder Arvin Morse Kangas, 58. is accused of misdemeanor assault and driving with a revoked license. The incident occurred at about 9:15 p.m. Wednesday when Arvin Kangas became enraged about the sale of a sofa between a mother and daughter in the village. The shooting was just after the village school was let out
