1 killed 3 injured in mass shooting at house party Dec. 21, 2013 Deontay Demarco Black-Wickliffe Michigan House Party Shooting Spree In Muskegon County, a mass shooting was reported around 3:30 a.m. after a group of uninvited guests, one of whom was known to the house showed up to a house party in Fruitland Township. After they were asked to leave, an argument and fight started (common reason for an unprovoked terrorist-style mass shooting) at least one male in that group was armed and when he was apparently angry at one individual that was pointed out, he instead pulled a handgun from the front of his pants and fired repeatedly at the house, swinging his arm "in a sweeping motion" from left to right at a crowd of people. (appearing to target one person but actually deliberately shooting a crowd is a common cover story) Gary Lee Ogreen, 21 year old community college student was shot and killed. The others injured were: Nicholas Aaron Gifford, shot in the right thigh; Julius Scott Pamer, shot in the buttocks; and Cody James Sharlow, who was shot in the stomach and hip area. There was no obvious motive (certainly not terrorism) Murder suspect Deontay DeMarco Black-Wickliffe, 22 was identified by one of the uninvited party as the shooter, as none in the house knew who fired the shots. Suspect on July 22, 2014 headed off a trial by pleading no contest on one count of second degree murder, three counts of assault with intent to murder and one felony firearm count. On September 18, suspect asked but the judge didn't find enough reason to allow Deontay DeMarco Black-Wickliffe to withdraw his no-contest plea the day of his sentencing. Judge sentenced him to 28 to 63 years for the murder charge, plus a consecutive two years for felony firearm. He also sentenced Black-Wickliffe to 21 to 50 years for the three counts of assault with intent to murder, and court fines and costs.
