4 killed including suspect, 1 wounded January 13, 2012 3 killed in North Carolina workplace shooting (CNN) Three people were killed and a fourth was wounded in a shooting at a lumber company in North Carolina, a county sheriff said. Investigators later found a man witnesses identified as the shooter in his home with a gunshot wound to the head, said Sheriff Dempsey Owens of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. The shooting happened at the McBride Lumber Co., about a mile north of Star, North Carolina, about 50 miles south of Greensboro, Owens said. Witnesses identified the shooter as 50-year-old Ronald Dean Davis who walked into the warehouse at the lumber business around 6:15am with a 12-gauge shotgun and began shooting. Law enforcement officers who went to his home discovered him sitting on a couch with a gunshot wound and a rambling six-page note beside him which indicated he was paranoid that his Hispanic co-workers were laughing about him when talking in Spanish, and fears someone had been putting something into his food. No motive was identified.

Ronald Dean Davis shot four co-workers Friday at McBride Lumber in Star, killing three. He was found at his own home with a self-inflicted gunshot wound a short time later. Davis died on Saturday.
Owens said the six-page letter left by Ronald Dean Davis stated that he felt he was being "punished or picked at" by co-workers.
He said Davis' letter revealed that he thought when his Hispanic co-workers were talking in Spanish and laughing, that it was directed towards him.
"He had some feeling or had some opinions in his head that peoples was out to get him or was aggravating him or was trying to hurt him and the paranoia set in on that," said Owens.
A portion of the letter, according to Owens, also revealed that Davis had believed that someone had been putting something into his food. Owens said there was no medical evidence to support this 3 killed in North Carolina workplace shooting - CNN.com
