On Valentine's Day 2012, Kenny was involved in a police investigation about a domestic dispute after an altercation with his wife about family photographs, which turned into divorce. In March after a 911 complaint "My son-in-law has gone nuts" Kenny filed an internal affairs complaint against the officers who responded. He was not charged but he complained to police and since then, Kenny had an anti-police propaganda website posting attacks on some 50 "empowered government employees", listing 24 by name with Greenwood being the highest ranking official singled out on the site. he called Greenwood "a legal criminal lacking basic ethics, he has a badge and a law degree but doesn't know right from wrong.".. willingly, intentionally framed an innocent Harris County citizen to conceal [Internal Affairs Department] wrongdoing."

BAYTOWN, Texas (KTRK) -- The man suspected of killing Harris County Pct. 3 Assistant Chief Deputy Clint Greenwood murder was deliberate in his planning and already dead, even as authorities continued their search. The weekend before, he rented the Nissan that was caught on surveillance video at multiple locations and the night before, he spent the night at a motel 10 miles from the scene. Three hours after the deadly ambush, Kenny returned the vehicle. At 8 a.m. the next morning, Tuesday, April 4, HPD received a call about a suicide outside Ben Taub. Kenny was listed as a "John Doe" until he was identified April 10.

"Whether or not he was specifically targeted, or whether this was because of the uniform he was wearing or the place he pulled up to in the morning, we just don't know that right now," Dorris said.
