April 11, 2017  Germany Borussia Dortmund football team bus Islamist terrorist attack Media declared  that "Islamist terrorists came within a hair's breadth of massacring one of Europe’s top football teams". In Dortmund, Germany, the tour bus of the football team Borussia Dortmund of German football league system was attacked minutes after it left a hotel by three sophisticated military style radio controlled roadside IED pipe shrapnel bombs in a hedge which had a range of 100 meters and left metal embedded in a headrest. One of the team's players suffered from glass shards and a fracture and escorting motorcyle policeman were wounded, but the safety glass which blew in slightly prevented further casualties. Officials initially declined to jump to the conclusion of a terror attack against Germany. But police later treated it as a terrorist attack with possible Islamist involvement after 3 letters were found at the scene, stating "In the name of Allah the gracious and merciful" the attack was retaliation for Muslims killed in the German military intervention against Islamic State (ISIS), and threatening to kill more celebrities if Germany didn't withdraw Panavia Tornados team from Syria. Investigation focused two suspects known to  police and intelligence services for affiliation to Islamic State. as one was seen near the bombing site. The arrested suspect is a Iraq member of ISIS since 2014 from Wuppertal identified as Abdul Beset A.who led a commando unit of 10 ISIS-members in Iraq involved in kidnappings, smuggling, extortion and killings. Nevertheless, some believe Islamist claims may be fake as unnamed sources say they cannot reliably assess a motive.
