April 9, 2014 Hit and Run Florida Day Care Center Crash  In Florida, a Dodge Durango rear-ended a Toyota Solara convertible that jumped a curb and smashed into the day care building, breaking through the wall. Robert Corchado who served prison time for trafficking cocaine and extortion is being sought in the investigation. 1 child was killed, 14 hurt
5. April 9, 2014 Marine shoots, kills fellow Marine at Camp Lejeune Guard Shack At Camp Lejeune North Carolina, a Marine at the main gate of a military base shot and killed another colleage inside a guard shack. The victim later died. The situation was quickly deemed to be neither a terrorist event nor an active shooter situation, as the gate was not closed and there was no lockdown. NCIS officials blamed a negligent discharge for the 5:30 p.m. shooting when a male Marine sentry standing guard negligently fired an M4 rifle at another Marine guard in the chest.

April 9, 2014 Pittsburgh High School Stabbing Spree A male student armed with two knives went on a slashing and stabbing rampage at Franklin Regional High School in Murrysville, near Pittsburgh Pa. April 9, 2014 Toronto Workplace Stabbing Spree A male employee is in police custody following a stabbing spree that left four of his co-workers injured in aToronto office building of Ceridian which provides payroll services. It started 9:30 a.m. as he was being told he was being fired. Police charged Chuang Li, 47, of Mississauga, Ont., with three counts of attempted murder, four counts of aggravated assault and four counts of assault with a weapon.
