1== Caltrain Commute Disruption
June 17, 2013 San Francisco California. At 5PM a man with a knife in his 20s was reported to police who sent in hostage negotiators and a SWAT team. A Caltrain commuter rail train was suddently stopped and evacuated. By 6PM they talked him down from a ledge after he failed to comply with orders. As a result, Caltrain commuter rail was shut down for the evening commute. sfappealsfpatch

Meaning: Could the motive of this man be an operation to disrupt commuter traffic? Accidents with semitrucks that flipped over can block all lanes of traffic, and a jumper from a bridge can disrupt traffic.

3== Police Appeal Decision Not to Charge Saudis, Pakistanis Caught at Boston Water Source

Last month, seven people found trespassing near “critical infrastructure” — a water reservoir just outside of Boston that serves the city’s metro area and much of the eastern part of the state — were cleared of terrorist suspicions. This week, the clerk magistrate decided not to press charges against the individuals, but the Massachusetts State Police are appealing this decision.
In mid-May, five men and two women said to be “chemical engineers” and “recent graduates” were found trespassing on the Quabbin Reservoir property after dark,sparking a statewide terror alert, especially after the attacks on the Boston Marathon that had happened the month prior. <see link on title for more>

ST. LOUIS — The St. Louis businessman who killed three employees before turning the gun on himself was a Somali immigrant, described by friends as an intelligent man who was quick to reach out to other new-arriving Somalis, but who had lingering anger years after the divorce from his first wife.
Police say 59-year-old Ahmed Dirir walked into his business, AK Home Health Care LLC, on Thursday afternoon, got into a brief argument, and then shot his three employees. Killed were 44-year-old Khadra Muse of Olivette, Mo., 29-year-old Seaeed Abdulla of St. Louis, and 54-year-old Bernice Solomon-Redd of East St. Louis, Ill.
Dirir, Muse and Abdulla were all from Somalia, said Omar Jamal of the Somali mission to the U.N. Jamal, who often gets involved in issues of high interest involving Somalis in the U.S., said he spoke with several friends and relatives of Dirir and the victims, including the wives of Dirir and Abdulla.

Mozambique's president on Tuesday condemned an attack by alleged fighters loyal to an opposition group that killed six government troops and injured three others...Basilio Antonio, an injured government soldier, said between 100 and 150 opposition fighters stormed an army barracks and attacked the soldiers with knives. He said the assailants did not have uniforms. Antonio, who was missing after Monday's clashes, said he managed to escape and walk to a hospital despite suffering wounds to his chest and back....Several combatants died in similar fighting in Sofala province in April. Mozambican Socio Television reported the Monday assault left on-the-spot casualties who were transferred to Central Hospital of Beira. Armed assailants also stole many arms and ammunition during their raid.  Soldiers in the government armory who witnessed the incident say the attack bore the hallmarks of the former Mozambican rebel movement (RENAMO), according to the local TV station.  RENAMO spokesman Fernando Mazango rejected the allegations, saying, “I cannot confirm yes or no due to communication problems with Sofala province.”
The Mozambican National Resistance (RENAMOPortugueseResistência Nacional Moçambicana) is a conservative political party in Mozambique led byAfonso Dhlakama. It fought against the FRELIMO in the Mozambican Civil War and against the ZANU movement led by Robert Mugabe from 1975 to 1992.
RENAMO was founded in 1975 following Mozambique's independence as an anti-Communist political organisation, sponsored by the Central Intelligence Organisationof RhodesiaAndré Matsangaissa, an ex-FRELIMO army commander, was its first leader. The Ian Smith administration in Rhodesia sought to prevent the FRELIMO government from providing a safe haven for Zimbabwe African National Unionmilitants seeking to overthrow the Rhodesian government. Matsangaissa was killed by government soldiers on 17 October 1979 in Sofala Province. Following a violent succession struggle, Afonso Dhlakama became the new RENAMO leader. During the Mozambican Civil War of the 1980s, RENAMO also received support from South Africa.[1] In the United States, the CIA and conservatives lobbied for support to RENAMO, which was strongly resisted by the State Department, which would "not recognize or negotiate with RENAMO".[2][3][4] The British government under Margaret Thatcher did not view the civil war in Mozambique as a part of the Cold Warin the extent that could have been thought and when FRELIMO closed the border to Rhodesia it was in fit well with British interests against the rebel colony while the Rhodesian government supported RENAMO.
FRELIMO also forced Mugabe to accept the Lancaster House Agreement for the end to the war in Rhodesia.[5]
