Summary: On June 18, 2013 a suicide bomber exploded at a funeral where hundreds gathered to honor the funeral of a local businessman. 28 people were killed and 57 others wounded in north-west Pakistan. Killed was official Imran Khan Mohmand who eventually lent his support to Imran Khan's PTI party which controls Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province near militant sanctuaries. The PTI which opposed the winner of the prime minister election favored negotiations with militants and opposed drone strikes. The PTI had escaped much of the Taliban violence against elections but this is Mohmand is the second lawmaker affiliated with the party to be killed since the election.
