Lakeisha Holloway Accused in Las Vegas Baby On Board Terrorist Style Vehicle Rampage

Lakeisha Holloway Accused in Las Vegas Baby On Board Terrorist Style Vehicle Rampage ---  ===

December 20, 2015 1 killed 30 injured 1 arrested. No motive Lakeisha Holloway Accused in Las Vegas Baby On Board Terrorist Style Vehicle Rampage A 24-year-old Oregon woman had her 3-year-old daughter in the car when she allegedly intentionally drove her 1996 Oldsmobile onto a sidewalk and into dozens of pedestrians Sunday night on the Las Vegas strip, as she would drive back on the curve to hit more people. One person was killed. After the attack, she drove to a casino, left her toddler in the car, and told a valet parker she had run over some people and requested that he call 911.  Deputy Chief Zimmerman announced "This was not an act of terrorism. Initial investigation appears this was intentional" but others said that terror could not be completely ruled out either.  It is said that she was stressed out by being homeless and living in her car and hassled by people who would let her park. She may have had some conflict with the father of her child, and that she wanted others to feel the hurt in her life. One of her cousins, LaShay Hardaway, said she was a successful, overachiever and this wasn’t something she would ever do. Holloway reportedly told police “I am hurting, and I want others to feel pain!” and she gave a motive to authorities which they were not "comfortable" releasing but it did not indicate any connection to terrorism.

When a Uyghur, Iranian, or Arab drives into a crowd, everybody know it is terrorism. When the driver is African American, White in Oklahoma or Venice Beach, Chinese, Samoan or Japanese, nobody has any idea of the motive just because it is probably a clandestine attack, an attack where they don't want to advertise the political motive and hope that people believe it is because of mental illness.

On December 20, 2015, a woman drove her Oldsmobile sedan on the sidewalk of the Las Vegas strip.[1][2][3][4] 37 people were struck by the car, of which one person has died. Investigators say that the incident had nothing to do with terrorismbut that it was deliberate.[1][5] Lakeisha Holloway was arrested at the scene of the incident, and is being charged with murder.

Attack

The attack began at about 6:40 p.m. when a 1996 Oldsmobile sedan drove onto a crowded sidewalk in front of Paris Las Vegas and The Forum Shops at Caesars and struck dozens of people. According to witnesses, the car swerved to avoid a truck at one point before accelerating back onto the sidewalk. Some bystanders tried to stop the car by pounding on the windows and opening the door on the driver's side. The suspected driver, identified as Lakeisha Holloway, eventually stopped a short distance away at Tuscany Suites and Casino and instructed a valet to call 9-1-1Las Vegas Boulevard was subsequently closed in the wake of the police investigation.[5][6]

Victims

One person, identified as 32-year-old Jessica Valenzuela of Buckeye, Arizona, was killed. She died of her injuries atUniversity Medical Center of Southern Nevada.[5] 36 other people were injured, including three in critical condition.[1] They were all tourists fromColoradoFloridaMexico, and QuebecCanada.[6] 15 victims were transported to University Medical Center of Southern Nevada, 11 others were taken to Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center, three were taken to Spring Valley Hospital, and four were treated at the scene.[5]

Suspect

The suspect was identified as 24-year-old Lakeisha Nicole Holloway, who was originally from PortlandOregon.[3] Her last known address was inVancouver, Washington.[7] She had a three-year-old daughter who was in the car during the rampage, but the girl was unharmed in the incident.[1]Holloway was charged with murder, child abuse, and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.[1][2]
Authorities did not reveal a specific motive behind the rampage, but they stated that it possibly involved a dispute involving the father of Holloway's daughter, who lives in Dallas, and that the attack was intentional.[2] At the time of the attack, Holloway had a driver's license that had been suspended since 2013. She was also homeless and living in her car with her daughter for about a week prior to the rampage.[1][6] She had previously been homeless during high school, but managed to make ends meet by graduating and earning $17,000 in scholarships.[8]
Holloway was reportedly working as a fashion designer at the time of the attack and did not appear to be under any stress prior to the attack.[3][4] She had been awarded by a mentoring organization in Portland in spring 2012 for being a role model to high school students.[6]

Reactions

Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval issued a statement expressing his sympathies with the victims and those affected, and congratulated the emergency personnel for their quick response to the incident.[5]

Hardly notable event certainly not worthy of a stand-alone article. Clearly murder according to the police but stems from a domestic tiff, nothing unusual in that and wikipedia is not a news service. Contested prod. MilborneOne (talk) 08:46, 23 December 2015 (UTC)

  • Keep - I will actually have to say Keep here. The case has received world wide headlines. Plenty of reliable sources. Still continues to be covered by world media days later and likely over the trial as well. This is a clear Keep article for me. Some of the Deletion !votes seem to indicate knowledge of this case being of no lasting impact.. I want to borrow your magic balls please... so I also can look into the future. Sheriff “uncomfortable” about revealing Las Vegas strip murderer Lakeisha Holloway’s motive By Tim Brown | Freedom Outpost .. In fact, he believes that the actions of Holloway are not a “militant attack.” Then why be uncomfortable with the motive?  Though authorities have claimed to have ruled out terrorism, they were confident that Holloway did what she did deliberately. According to at least one eyewitness, Holloway was uttering an all too familiar phrase as she mowed people down on the strip. “As this unfolded, the only thing I recall as this happened is the insane sound of her car accelerating and the voice from the car was screaming ‘Allah Akbar!’ I’ve heard the sound enough times on the news that I was waiting for a bomb to blow up or guns to start firing,” said the eyewitness....Was it Islamic terrorism? While we could point to various articles that demonstrate that the Black Lives Matter movement has domestic terrorists in it and that some of them are aligned with Islamic jihadis, it seems that the motive behind this attack was not one that is related to jihad, but rather a women who was emotionally distraught....

According to NBC KSNV, Holloway told police “I am hurting, and I want others to feel pain!”

FALSE: Female Killer in Las Vegas Shouted 'Allahu Akbar' Snopes‎   21 December 2015, the notoriously unreliable web site Before It's News published an article reporting that Holloway had shouted "Allahu Akbar" (Arabic for "Allah is great") during the incident: The witness went on to say "As this unfolded, the only thing I recall as this happened is the insane sound of her car accelerating and the voice from the car was screaming 'Allah Akbar!' I've heard the sound enough times on the news that I was waiting for a bomb to blow up or guns to start firing."

unable to confirm that any witnesses reported Holloway as shouting "Allahu Akbar" during the incident, and we found no witness reports stating such posted in social media prior to the publication of articles claiming that she had. Those articles may have been inspired by a thread on the conspiracy board "God Like Productions" titled "I was hit by crazy Islamist bitch screaming Allah Ahckbar on the Strip! Best friend got knees clipped!,"

The rumor's credibility deficit was so severe that even an InfoWars article described it as "from a dubious source [which] cannot be considered genuine at this time."
