February 2, 2018 Eric Joseph Coleman Alleged Drunk Snowmobile Driver Hits Icehouse Snowmobile driver is accused of driving drunk and accidentally hitting a pickup truck, dragging an 8 year old boy Alan Geisenkoetter Jr then hitting the father Alan Geisenkoetter, 43, who was setting up an ice fishing house. He was going extremely fast in a very crowded area, in an area where families fish, The boy died the following wednesday. Coleman was facing criminal vehicular operation and drunken driving now vehicle homicide charges. His license has been revoked three times in the past for alcohol-related incidents, He was already facing charges in an alcohol-related traffic wreck in Anoka in November. Suspect is white. Colman was convicted of third-degree murder in the drunken snowmobile crash (2) Coleman was sentenced to serve 12 1/2 years in prison , and must serve two-thirds of his sentence behind bars.“I just truly believe it’s time to move on and recover and heal from this. I just ask for forgiveness. I’m terribly sorry. That’s all I have,” Coleman said in court. (1)
Alternative theory: There is no evidence that he got drunk to hide that he deliberately crashed into people in his snowmobile.
