July 22, 2015 Gunman kills woman, 2 children, wounds man in suburban Atlanta home RT A gunman killed a woman and two children and wounded another man before killing himself in a suburban Atlanta home early on Wednesday, AP reported, citing Forsyth County Sheriff Duane Piper. The shooter’s name wasn’t released, but he was reportedly known to officers from previous arrests for minor crimes. The victims and the shooter all lived at the house, and Piper said there was “absolutely no clue at this point what precipitated” the attack. The house is a few yards from a golf course community along the Chattahoochee River.

The raids were staged to fight all “terrorist” groups “without distinction,” the prime minister's office said. A total of 251 people have so far been detained in the simultaneous raids, it added.

ISIS claims suicide car bombing in Baghdad
Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) militants claimed responsibility on Thursday for a suicide car bombing in Baghdad that killed at least 20 people the day before. The explosion occurred in a mainly Shiite Muslim district in the Iraqi capital. The Sunni militant group posted a statement online saying it had targeted a security checkpoint in the al-Shurta al-Rabaa neighborhood, Reuters reported.

Series of blasts at Nigerian bus stations kill at least 37 – report
A series of bomb blasts at bus stations in Nigeria's northeastern city of Gombe have killed at least 37 people, according to Al Jazeera sources. Meanwhile Reuters, citing a Red Cross official, reported 29 killed and 60 injured. The first bomb was detonated by a female suicide bomber as around 6:00pm GMT near the Dadin Kowa bus terminal as people gathered to pray at a nearby mosque, Reuters reported. Minutes later a second explosion happened near the same station. About an hour later two more consecutive blasts occurred at the gate of the Duku bus station and at market nearby. No one has immediately claimed responsibility for the blasts, but similar attacks in the past have been blamed on the Boko Haram terrorist group which is very active in the region. Last Friday at least 50 people were killed in a series of bombings at a market in the same city.

4 Egypt soldiers killed by roadside bomb in Sinai
A roadside bomb killed four Egyptian soldiers on Thursday in the Sinai Peninsula, AFP reported. One officer and three soldiers died in the attack on their vehicle near the border town of Rafah, according to a military spokesman. The attack came a few days after seven soldiers were killed at a checkpoint in the region, where the army is battling an Islamist insurgency.

Turkish police officer killed, another wounded in Kurdish city of Diyarbakir
A Turkish police officer was shot and killed and a second wounded on Thursday in the mainly Kurdish city of Diyarbakir, Reuters reported. The shooting occurred in the center of the city. It comes one day after two police officers were killed in an attack in Ceylanpinar on the Syrian border. The Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) claimed responsibility for the Ceylanpinar attack.
No Ukraine withdrawal of heavy weaponry from line of engagement – Donetsk
Ukraine is not withdrawing military hardware from the line of engagement, according to officials in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR). President Petro Poroshenko earlier ordered to set up a 30-kilometer buffer zone along the line between militias and government forces, and to withdraw military hardware from the demilitarized zone, the Donetsk news agency said. Despite this statement, the withdrawal of weaponry and military hardware hasn’t begun, according to DNR representative Eduard Basurin. DNR officials have accused the Ukrainian authorities of violating the Minsk peace agreements and shelling militia positions.
