Prather, 33 shot and killed himself after shooting his ex-wife, her lover, and his own two children Saturday afternoon in Douglasville, Ga. They argued over taxes and sources close to the family said Prather was tired of paying child support
Killed were Latoya A. Andrews, Prather's ex-wife, and Joseph Terry Brown, 33, as the adults who died. A 7-year-old child died at the scene; and a 9-year-old child was taken to a hospital and later died. A neighbor saw one child beg him not to pull the trigger. Prather left no note explaining his motive. Prather parked his car down the street from the Andrews' home before he shot Andrews, her boyfriend, Brown, London, Jeremiah, and Brown's 8-year-old daughter. Misha, 15, who was Andrews' daughter from a previous relationship, was also shot. The two had been divorced for more than five years. They argued over taxes and sources close to the family said Prather was tired of paying child support and upset Andrews wouldn't stop it.
