An Whittier man was street racing when he triggered a fiery six-vehicle crash that claimed three lives and left two other people seriously injured on the 5 Freeway in Commerce early Saturday, authorities said. Dealio Lockhart, 35, is accused of vehicular manslaughter in connection with the 12:01 a.m. wreck on the southbound 5 Freeway, just north of Triggs Street, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Doris Peniche. Two men and one woman died in the crash, Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner officials said. tags: black suspect, road warfare, street racing (cover story) 19-Year-Old Killed in Commerce Crash Was On Her Way Home From Disneyland With Friends Michelle Littlefield, identified by her father William, was one among three killed Saturday just after midnight when a UPS truck collided with their Nissan. Brian Lewandowski, 18, son of a homicide lieutenant with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department was also killed in the crash. Lewandowski and Michelle were killed as they sat in the back seat. The roof was sheared off the Nissan in the crash. The chain-reaction crash began when a Dodge Challenger and a Dodge Charger were racing at speeds of 90 mph. The Challenger tried to a pass a slower car when the driver lost control and struck the UPS truck. The truck struck the median, went airborne and landed on the Nissan carrying Michelle and her friends on the north side of the freeway. The truck ultimately landed on a Ford Explorer that burst into flames. Scott Treadway, a 30-year UPS veteran, was behind the wheel of the truck, and died in the crash.
