In Newark, New Jersey three people were shot and three cars crashed in a related incident / attack. One man died at the scene, a woman died at the hospital. The apparent gunmen sped away in a black Jeep. two other people who were not in the car with the gunshot victims were also injured, but not as seriously. A multi-car drive by shooting could not be ruled out.

Officer Joshua Gouveia took the stand again as the suspect Keaka Martin listened quietly to the testimony. Gouveia admits since being shot last year, recovering has been a challenge with anxiety setting in and at one point becoming slightly depressed.
"I was also having trouble sleeping, feeling the physical and emotional side effects," said Gouveia.
Gouveia got on his knees in court re-enacting what he says happened that night after he and officer Garrett Hatada responded to a report of gunshots being fired. Gouveia testified that he was checking underneath a parked car next to the former Green Onion Lounge in Hilo. He says someone surprised him being just three feet away. Then he saw a gun, a flash, and took a bullet to his thigh. Gouveia explained why he didn't fire back.Police arrested Martin the next day after a 20 hour man-hunt.
