Rogel Lazaro Aguilera-Mederos Colorado Semi Crash Erratic Driver

Rogel Lazaro Aguilera-Mederos Colorado Semi Crash Erratic Driver --- ===

25th April 2019  Rogel Lazaro Aguilera-Mederos Colorado Semi Crash Erratic Driver   Rogel Lazaro Aguilera-Mederos is a 23-year old driver who caused a deadly, fiery 28-vehicle crash led to the death of four people.  He told police he suddenly noticed that he was driving 85 in a 45 zone (other drives say he might have been doing 100) His brakes failed, and his emergency brake failed so he failed to notice the brake failure exit for trucks (some say he swerved away) and before crashing he closed his eyes (other witnesses said he eyes were wide open and terrified).  His lawyer says it was an unfortunate accident but he was arrested and faces four counts of vehicular homicide.  In contrast to deadly incidents caused by illegal immigrants, the drive was Cuban national and is working in the U.S. with a green card. krdo

16 hours ago - A truck driver blamed for causing a deadly pileup involving over two dozen vehicles near Denver has been arrested on vehicular homicide charges. Lakewood police spokesman Ty Countryman said Friday that there's no indication that drugs or alcohol played a role in Thursday's crash.  Aguilera-Mederos’s attorney, Rob Corry, said Saturday that the crash was an accident caused by a malfunction in the truck’s equipment.

But even if that’s true, prosecutors could still charge the driver, Martinez said.

Truck drivers are required by law to inspect their vehicle every time they get in the driver’s seat, he said. But many drivers don’t do a full inspection,

use evidence that Aguilera-Mederos failed to use a runaway truck ramp after he realized he didn’t have control of his truck, Martinez said.

told police that he panicked as his truck barreled down Interstate 70 toward cars that were stopped in traffic due to an earlier crash. He tried to drive on the shoulder, but it was blocked by another stopped semi, Aguilera-Mederos told police according to his arrest affidavit. He then swerved back into traffic to avoid the semi. He didn’t drive off the road because he didn’t want to roll his truck, he said.

Video obtained by police showed Aguilera-Mederos passing a runaway truck ramp while swerving out of control, the affidavit stated. The person who provided the video said they were traveling almost 80 mph
