Twitter announced Monday that one of the main accounts behind the viral tweets about the episode had been suspended, saying that its rules prohibit “deliberate attempts to manipulate the public conversation on Twitter by using misleading account information.” The account that Twitter suspended, @2020fight, purported to be a teacher named Talia living in California. “Teacher & Advocate. Fighting for 2020,” the bio noted. It had some 40,000 followers and used, at least recently, a photo not of a schoolteacher but an attractive woman who is a blogger in Brazil, according to CNN Business, which first reported the story.  eventually viewed 2.5 million times, drawing tens of thousands of retweets and likes. Another tweet with video of the stare-down, shared by the anonymous account @lulu_says2 went viral, as well. That tweet has since been deleted.(1)

Nathan Phillips[1] (born February 22, 1954)[2] is a Native American activist, Omaha peopleelder, and supporter of Native American war veterans. He leads an annual ceremony in their honor at Arlington National Cemetery.

Early life

Philips was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska,[3] where he was brought up in a traditional Omaha Nation tribal home.[4][3] Around about the age of five, at a time before Indian Child Welfare Act when many Indigenous children were separated from their families, he was taken away from his mother and raised by a white family.[5] He later moved to Washington DC.[6]

Military service

Phillips served in the U.S. Marine Corps from June 1972 to May 1976, making him a "Vietnam era veteran" as defined by the U.S. government.[7][8] From October 1972 to February 1973, he was classified as anti-tank missileman (infantry). He subsequently served as a refrigerator technician for the remainder of his service. Phillips did not deploy, and was released as a private following disciplinary issues.[9]
In an interview with Vogue, Phillips said that "I'm what they call a recon ranger. That was my role".[9] This statement was questioned by Donald Shipley, who publicly outs false claims of military service. However, according to Daniel Paul Nelson, a Lakota People's Law Project leader, the quote was taken out of content, as Phillips was referring to work he was doing on the reservation.[9]

Activism

The New York Times identified Phillips as a former Director of the Native Youth Alliance, a group that works to ensure that traditional culture and spiritual ways are upheld for future generations of Native Americans,[10] and that he leads an annual ceremony honoring Native American war veterans in Arlington National Cemetery.[10] The Guardian called him "a well-known Native American activist who was among those leading the Standing Rock protests in 2016 and 2017 against the construction of an oil pipeline in North Dakota".[11]
Phillips was in the news in Michigan in 2015 when he alleged a group of students from Eastern Michigan University harassed him.[12]
In a January 2019 article in Indian Country Today, Phillips was described as a "keeper of a sacred pipe".[13][Notes 1][12] Another January 2019 article in the Washington Post described Phillips as a "a veteran in the indigenous rights movement".[14]

Between Earth and Sky

Phillips is the subject of the award-winning 2013 documentary film Between Earth and Sky in which he and his wife, Shoshana, travel back to his Omaha reservation after his wife was diagnosed with bone-marrow cancer. She passed away of the disease in 2014.[15][16][17][18]

"Make It Bun Dem" video

In 2012, Phillips and his son appeared in the music video for "Make It Bun Dem", a song by Skrillex and Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley.[19] In a 20 February 2017 interview that took place during the Dakota Access Pipeline protests (DAPL), Phillips explained he had answered the casting call at the time because he wanted to help his children cope with his wife's cancer.[20]

2019 Indigenous Peoples March incident

On January 18, 2019, snippets of videos recorded at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., appeared to show Phillips being harassed by a group of fifty to sixty high school boys who had attended the coinciding annual March for Life; they were widely shared through social media, including Twitter and YouTube, with one video reaching two million viewers in two hours.[21][22][23] Philips had walked towards and into a group of young men from the private, all-male Covington Catholic High School (CovCath), who had traveled from Kentucky on a school trip to attend the anti-abortion March for Life.[Notes 2] He begun to chant the AIM Song, a traditional Native American inter-tribal powwowsong.[24][13] Videos showed a student, later identified as a junior at Covington Catholic High School,[25] standing inches away from Philips' face while Philips chanted, while some of the students in the background did "Tomahawk chops" and danced.[24] Numerous students wore red "Make America Great Again" caps.[25]
The videos created a backlash against the school and the students. Shortly after the video went viral, CovCath's communications director released a statement regretting that the incident took place.[22] On January 19, 2019, multiple students that were present at the incident stated that it had been skewed. The involved student released a statement saying that the students were confronted by four members of the Black Hebrew Israelite movement, that Philips tried to provoke the students and that they never chanted "build the wall" or used any racist language or gestures.[25][26][27] Hours after the incident took place, in a brief interview on Twitter, Phillips said, "While I was there singing, I heard them saying ‘Build that wall! Build that wall!’, you know... this is indigenous land! ...We're not supposed to have walls here, we never did—for millennium. Before anybody else came here we never had walls. We never had a prison. We always took care of our elders, we took care of our children. We always provided for them, you know. We taught them right from wrong. I wish I could see that energy of the young mass, the young men, put their energy into making this into a really great country."[28] Asked why he had approached the group of students, Philips said that he was trying to defuse a confrontation between the group of students and a small group of Black Hebrew Israelites who were shouting insults and profanities at the students.[24][25][29]

Personal

Phillips' life "companion" was Shoshana Konstant, also known as Shoshana Beth Phillips,[30][31] with whom he has two children.[3]

America's Survival, Inc 1/22/2019  Turns out that the Native American who had that “confrontation” with the Catholic high school students, Nathan Phillips, appears in a “hemp and cannabis” education campaign. It also turns out the Native Youth Alliance gets money from the Rockefeller Brothers Fund and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The Indian was part of an “Indigenous Peoples March”sponsored by the Romero Institute

Oh my gosh. Who dat?

This is where it gets interesting. The Romero Institute is run by people once associated with the Christic Institute. I debated Danny Sheehan of the Christic Institute on C-SPAN many years ago about a frivolous lawsuit they filed against some American patriots, including Maj. Gen. John K. Singlaub, Maj. Gen. Richard V. Secord, Adolfo Calero and 26 others who had been fighting communism in Central America or who had military or intelligence backgrounds. On February 2, 1989, Judge James Lawrence King ordered the Christic Institute to pay five of the defendants over a million dollars to cover their legal fees and costs. This was done under federal civil rule 11, which provides for sanctions against those who file frivolous lawsuits.

As we move forward, one can see that the fake conservatives are a big part of the problem. Last night, Laura Ingraham had on Glenn Greenwald, one of traitor Edward Snowden’s collaborators, to talk about the case of the Christian teens. He blamed them and the leftist agitators equally for the incident. All the teens did was stand their ground and refuse to be intimidated.

Here’s what Ingraham for some reason doesn’t want you to know: Greenwald works hand-in-glove with the International Marxist movement against the United States and its allies. Greenwald spoke to various Socialism conferences and ended the evening of a conference on July 3, 2011, as part of a plenary entitled “Revolution and imperialism in the Middle East.” Prior to Greenwald’s talk to the group, people in attendance chanted “Palestine will be free.”

Why is “conservative” Fox News giving this guy a platform? This “Glenn” and “Laura” show is sickening.
