Seattle Arson Cases --- ===

five fires at businesses between October 28th and November 28th, including:

  1. An office complex in the 200 block of Etruria Street on October 28th, 2018.
  2. An Elks lodge in the 3000 block of 3rd Avenue NW on November 8th.
  3. A lumber yard in the 300 block of West Ewing Street on November 10th. $4million 
  4. A gymnasium in the 1400 block of Northwest 52nd Street on November 19th.
  5. Preston Ellis arson sparee Nov 20th Suspected arsonist arrested after several fires in North Seattle  34-year-old man with a lengthy criminal record from Florida is being held at the King County jail, accused of a one-day arson spree in North Seattle.  Preston Ellis faces charges of arson and reckless burning stemming from a series of arson fires in North Seattle on Tuesday.  
One of the fires he’s accused of starting was at Jon Dalton’s Wallingford home.  tool shed was torched, and the side of the home also burned, melting the plastic housing while propane tanks were inside.   Dalton was sleeping inside the home Ellis been in the Seattle area for less than a year and just got out of prison in Florida in March of 2017 after serving time for aggravated battery.

Police estimate the fires caused more than four and a half million dollars in damage.

On February 6th, police received notification of a DNA match from the Washington State Crime Lab, which had analyzed evidence recovered from one of the crime scenes.

Police later located the suspect, who was already in custody at the Whatcom County Jail o
