One of biggest American propaganda agents for Soviet Union who visited Moscow and East Germany in effect if not in fact of 1960s and 70s, still supporting other radical women like Ilhan Omar in 2010s. In propaganda of the deed (Nixon called her a dangerous terrorist) she bought the guns for a 1970 terrorist attack on a courtroom in Marin County that resulted in death of the judge nad others but somehow jury found her not guilty on all charges. She is still honored by progressives today like Linda Sarsour and Ilhan Omar.


August 7, 1970 (Communist Black Panthers, Angela Davis) August 7, 1970 Marin County Courthouse Attack   Jonathan Jackson, 17-year-old brother of prison revolutionary George Jackson, carried four guns into a courtroom just down the hall from the scene of Friday's shooting.  Jonathan Jackson freed three prisoners, and with them took five hostages, including Judge Harold Haley, in a bid to free George Jackson from prison. A shoot-out ensued, and three Black Panthers the  younger Jackson, two of the prisoners and the judge were killed. The judge was killed by a shotgun to the head attached by the terrorists but may also have been wounded when police shot at the escape van. Propagandist and professor Angela Davis bought the guns days before registered in her name, and was charged as an accomplice to conspiracy, kidnapping, and homicide. In 1972, she was tried and somehow found not guilty on all counts. Angela Davis was an apologist for the Soviet Union and icon in the communist world even though she was never recognized as an espionage agent of the USSR. V. Judah Khaykin:  USSR embraced Davis as an effective propaganda tool tocover against criticism over human rights violations, deflect criticism, and advance their campaigns of ideological warfare. US intelligence services estimated that around 5% of the total budget of the KGB - which was one of the most vast espionage institutions in history - was dedicated to promoting Angela Davis  employed, was the Soviet anti-Zionist campaign which has outlived the USSR itself, To promote these anti-semitic ideas about Zionism, the USSR used groups like the Communist Party USA. Angela Davis was a member of this Soviet subsidiary front group until 1991 when the USSR began to dissolve.

• Alan Dershowitz federalist in his 1992 “Chutzpah” book, relays a similar incident in which Davis, a woman who went on to be a professor in the “History of Consciousness” at the University of California, not only refused to stand up for prisoners of conscience in the Soviet Union but argued that their imprisonment was justified: I also worked as an unpaid consultant on an aspect of the Angela Davis case in California. Davis, who was one of the leaders of the American Communist party, was charged with murder in connection with a 1970 shoot-out at a Marin County courthouse. She claimed that as a black, a woman, and a Communist, she could not receive a fair trial in any American court. She was acquitted, so maybe she was right! After her acquittal, she announced that she would be devoting the remainder of her life to defending political prisoners like herself. A short time later, I read that she was going to Moscow to receive some human rights prize from the Soviet Union. I called her office and gave them a list of Jewish prisoners of conscience in the Soviet Union – Jews who had been imprisoned because they wanted to emigrate to Israel or to learn about their heritage. I asked if she would be willing to speak up on behalf of these political prisoners. Several days later, I received a call back from Ms. Davis’s secretary informing me that Davis had looking into the people on my list and none of them were political prisoners ‘They are all Zionist fascists and opponents of Socialism.’ Davis would urge that they be kept in prison where they belonged.

According to the jury, the fact that she owned the guns used in the crime was judged insufficient to establish her role in the plot.  California laws, all persons concerned in the commission of a crime, whether they directly commit the act constituting the offence or not, are principals in the crime. Davis had purchased several of the firearms Jackson used in the attack including the shotgun used to shoot Judge Haley, which she bought at a San Francisco pawn shop two days before the incident. She was also found to have been corresponding with one of the inmates involved.

In 1971, in fact, the CIA noted that Davis’s case had become “a Soviet manipulated international anti-US campaign reminiscent of the orchestrated by Communist propaganda efforts made on behalf of atomic spies, Ethel and Julius Rosenberg.” The CIA estimated that at least 5 percent of the entire Soviet Russian propaganda budget had been aimed at propping up Davis. To put that in context, that’s more than was being spent on propaganda directly about the Vietnam War. All schoolchildren in East Germany were ordered to collect flowers and stamps for Davis.
