Murder of American Sondra Elizondo Medical Aid Co-Founder in Costa Rica Police think Sondra Lynn Elizondo, 46, was killed in a crime of passion when Stewartville Minnesota native found stabbed to death in Costa Rica.The body of Sondra Lynn Elizondo, 45, was found at her hotel room by staff cleaning the rooms in San Jose, Costa Rica, where she was doing volunteer work. Alejandro Obando, 23, was a former "boy toy" two year casual boyfriend she met at a party and was trying to break up with who was arrested two days later Dec 11 in a raid. It would have been Elizondo’s 46th birthday and found him with her credit cards, phone and clothing He says he has been accused because he had been with her before he left the hotel, but has no fear that he will be found innocent. Eizondo fell in love with Costa Rica while serving in the Peace Corps in the mid-1990s. Elizondo was the co-founder of Vida Volunteer, a group she formed to help people with medical and dental needs in Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Guatemala.
No evidence or media is linking this to what looks a lot like a terrorist motive.
