5 February 2019 Paris Apartment Fire Woman Mental Illness Attack fire occurred at a block of flats in rue Erlanger in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, France, in the early hours of 5 February 2019. Ten people were killed and more than thirty others injured. A 40-year-old female resident of the building was arrested on suspicion of arson. It was the deadliest fire in Paris since 2005.
Woman was identified as 40-year-old Essia B. Essia is a common name on Linkedin for women from the former French colony of Tunsia which is predominantly Arab and Muslim, but no links were made by media or officials to any possible terrorist motive.
In a similar attack by a "mentally ill" man, the suspect had been flagged for terrorist sympathies stabbed his mother sister to death and stabbed and injured a bystander in an attack claimed by ISIS in the mostly Muslim community of Trappes in Paris. It is another case of a domestic violence incident that looks like, and was claimed a a terrorist attack as it involved attacking not only family but also strangers.

Islamic State, or ISIS as it's better known, asserted responsibility on its website, proclaiming the assailant had heeded the terrorist group's calls to attack civilians in countries at war with them. Hours earlier, the Islamic State group's leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, urged followers to attack enemies everywhere by all means, including in knife attacks.
