January 9, 2019 Murder of Louisiana Police Officer Chateri Payne Chateri Payne, who was just 22 police officer in Shreveport, La. died after being shot at least four times outside her own home, including at least once in the head as she was preparing for her shif. Detectives detained and questioned Anderson after the shooting but released him after he said he went outside after hearing shots and fired a gun at a person who was clad all in black (5) She was one of 2 female rookie police officers had been shot and killed in 2 days (10) The other was Davis police Officer Natalie Corona, 22, was responding to a triple-car crash when a gunman on a bicycle shot her multiple times by a man who killed himself after leaving a note accusing police of hitting him with 'sonic waves'
