March 1, 2016,  Boston Newton Massachusetts Sweet Tomatoes Pizza Killer Crash 2 killed, suspect guilty of vehicle homicide. Bradford Casler, 56, drove his S.U.V. drove through an intersection in Newton and slammed his Volkswagen Tiguan into Sweet Tomatoes Pizza for unknown reasons killing two people killing 32-year-old Gregory Morin and 57-year-old Eleanor Miele (2)  It was found he illegally crossed the yellow line, made “intentional” maneuvers while driving well-above the speed limit. He wove in and out of traffic, hit two cars and did not apply the brakes to reduce his speed and failed to control his vehicle Casler stayed in the car and stated the his brakes did not work nd he could not apply the brakes but nobody saw him attempt to brake or saw his brake lights come on, and no defect was found in the car (4)  His attorney has blamed Casler’s multiple sclerosis for the crash.   However an EMT medical technician and many other experts testified Multiple Sclerosis did not cause the accident(1)  Rabbi Robert Miller spoke on behalf of the defense, telling the court he’s known Casler for over 40 years.  “I can’t believe Brad would ever intentionally injure another human being,” he said. (5)  Neverthless, the jury found Brad Casler guilty on two motor vehicle homicide charges and one charge of operating to endanger.  His attorney said Casler was upset because he’s "never had any criminal involvement in his life before.” and had argued multiple sclerosis caused the crash should not be held criminally responsible, and could face up to seven years in prison.
