May 31, 2014 Airborne Wrong-Way Truck Causes Mass Murder Traffic Pileup In the Flagler County Florida crash, troopers say 38-year-old Roy White, of Jacksonville, was driving a Chevrolet Silverado north on I-95 and for some reason drifted across the highway. That car hit the median and became airborne, traveling over a guardrail, and entered southbound lanes of I-95. White's car hit the top of the Honda Civic driven by 56-year-old Pamela Taylor Thor, of St. Augustine, and then a third car.Troopers say White's passenger, 17-year-old Benjamin Smith, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the truck.  Both Smith and Thor died from their injuries.
No one in the third car was hurt.
Troopers originally closed I-95 in both directions, but reopened northbound lanes around 7:15 p.m.
FHP said the backup from the Palm Coast crash may have contributed to the crash in St. Johns county that involved at least eight passenger vehicles and three commercial motor vehicles. At least four deaths were confirmed.

Allen West Questions Bergdahl Dad Tweeting "God will repay for the death of every Afghan child, ameen."to Taliban: wapost So it wasn’t entirely unusual when Bergdahl apparently published a tweet last week about Guantanamo’s detainees. Except this tweet was directed at a Taliban spokesman. And it came just four days before it was announced that his son was finally being released“I am still working to free all Guantanamo prisoners,” the tweet said, according to various screen grabs. The tweet was subsequently deleted. “God will repay for the death of every Afghan child, ameen.

Troops Unhappy with Taliban Deserter Bergdahl:  newsmax Bergdahl Before Capture: I'm Ashamed to Be American Monday, 02 Jun 2014 09:20 AM By Greg Richter and Melanie Batley With Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl safe after five years as a prisoner of the Taliban, the circumstances of his capture are getting a fresh look. Bergdahl was freed on Saturday in exchange for five Guantanamo Bay detainees. His release was celebrated by Washington politicians, including Republicans, but many felt the United States had broken its longstanding policy of not negotiating with terrorists. Bergdahl walked away from his base, reportedly without a weapon, in June 2009 and was captured by the Taliban-affiliated Haqqani network. At least six soldiers were killed in subsequent searches for Bergdahl. Moreover, CNN reported that soldiers in his platoon said attacks seemed to increase against the United States in Paktika Province in the days and weeks following his disappearance

In many mass shootings that end in suicide, we’re left asking why. Adam Lanza destroyed his computer before committing the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School, and investigators were only able to retrieve some information from his hard drive. But like Seung-Hui Cho, the Virginia Tech killer, Elliot Rodger left behind a140-page manifesto, entitled “My Twisted World,” in which he places the blame for his post-adolescent misery and subsequent rampage squarely on the shoulders of the women who rejected him over the course of his wealthy Santa Barbara upbringing. (His father is an assistant director on the “Hunger Games” films and his grandfather was one of the founders of the Magnum photo agency.) Rodger had been planning his “day of retribution” for three years.
His parents, who are divorced, received the manifesto before a local news station did, and called police and raced to his apartment to try to stop him. It was too late. They’d been concerned about their son in recent years: He was planning to drop out of Santa Barbara City College because of his inability to make friends, and, according to his father, he had Asperger syndrome. In April, his mother had called the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office after seeing a number of disturbing YouTube videos her son made.
After a 42-hour reprieve from gunfire, six people were killed and at least 22 were wounded in shootings across Chicago this weekend. Victims include Dashawn Johnson, 17, who was shot in the jaw and killed in the Washington Heights neighborhood; a 17-year-old boy injured in the East Garfield Park neighborhood; and a 17-year-old boy shot in both legs.
According to the Gun Violence Archive7,145 people have been injured by gun violence in America and 4,123 have been killed since Jan. 1, 2014. That number includes 14 police officers killed, 447children injured or killed and 331 instances of defensive gun use
