As she was being processed, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement was notified of the arrest. ICE then sent the police department a detainer order stating that ICE would take custody of Chavarria-Medina.
According to police reports, she had been driving a Fairfield police said.

DUI appears to be a cover story so that no one will suspect she was deliberately trying to kill people since she has no obvious links to any terrorist organization or cause.

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Fairfield police are holding Rosa Rosa Blanca Chavarria-Medina, the woman arrested Monday in a speeding six-car pileup at Cumberland Farms, after receiving a detainer order from the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Fairfield police had issued an arrest warrant for Chavarria-Medina, 31, but had been unable to locate her after she left the hospital after the crash, police said. She was driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.3, three time the legal limit, when the crash occurred off Exit 24 for Interstate 95.
Chavarria-Medina, 31, was arrested Monday after she went to the Bridgeport Police Headquarters to ask about getting a copy of the accident report from the March 31 crash on Kings Highway in Fairfield.
According to the police report, the Bridgeport sergeant said she seemed confused about where the accident had taken place. 
While speaking with Chavarria-Medina, a clerk at the Bridgeport station recognized her name and told the sergeant she was wanted in the crash. He then contacted Fairfield police. 
She was transported to the Fairfield station and charged with driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, failure to obey a stop sign, failure to grant half of the highway, reckless driving and first-degree reckless endangerment. 
She was held on $5,000 bond. No court date was released.

Much more logical comments here. I'm appalled at the comments on the Fairfield Police Facebook page. It is standard to describe suspects by race and the fact that this person was illegal should add fuel to the fire. Stop accusing the police of racism when they are doing a fine job protecting us.

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) — A Thirty-one-year-old 
was charged Monday with driving under the influence and reckless driving, among other things.
Police say Chavarria-Medina was exiting Interstate 95 in Fairfield on March 24 when her car smashed into five vehicles outside a Cumberland Farms store and crashed into the storefront. Four people were hospitalized. Police say it's lucky none of the injuries was life-threatening.
This happened right near me. What she did was no easy feat - it wasn't a straight shot off the exit ramp into the station (have to make a turn) so to launch into the station at that speed is incredible. It is a very busy station all the time. One of the people injured was a young child. Can't believe what a joke her bail is. She could have easily killed several people and she trashed multiple cars and did damage to the statin

On Monday March 24, 2014 at 2047 hours the Fairfield Police Department responded to a motor vehicle accident involving six vehicles with numerous injuries at Cumberland Farms 975 Kings Highway East.

A Nissan Maxima operated by Rosa Blanca Chavarria-Medina (DOB 07/20/83) of Bridgeport, was traveling south on I-95 and exited the Exit#24 ramp to Chambers Street. The vehicle continued south off the exit ramp and came to rest at Cumberland Farms located at 975 Kings Hwy East after striking five other vehicles. Four individuals, including an eighteen month old child, were transported by AMR Ambulance to area hospitals with non life threatening injuries.

There was an indication of intoxication and a high rate of speed. A Search Warrant for medical records will be completed.

This collision is being investigated by the Crash Reconstruction Team of the Special Services Division.
