He entered a home and started traded gunfire with deputies. An innocent homeowner who appeared at the door was mistakenly shot and killed. A 54-year-old man in the home was shot. Deputies managed to pull him from the doorway, but he died at the scene. Ramirez then barricaded himself in the home, taking a 60-year-old woman hostage who was later rescued uninjured.
