1 killed 1 arrested August 22, 2014 murder August 28, 2014 arrest Atlanta police officer killed woman, lit her on fire after backpage ‘romantic encounter’: cops - (NY Daily News) Atlanta police officer Tahreem Zeus Rana, 23, was "arrested trying to board a flight to Mexico busted trying to skip town Thursday, nearly one week after police believe he kidnapped 26-year-old Vernicia Woodard who he met on Backpage.com. She was taken to a secluded location where she was shot, and set afire. Her still-burning body was found the morning of Aug. 22. On Aug 29, he appeared in court on charges of murder, arson, kidnapping, and tampering with evidence in the slaying. Investigators linked the killing to Rana through the woman's phone records.
Tahreem is a common Muslim name which comes from the chapter in the Quran meaning "prohibition”,
