January 21, 2014 Perdue University Shooting at Electrical Engineering Building Andrew Boldt, 21 was allegedly shot and stabbed by suspect Cody Cousins who then gave himself up after police found the victim dead. The killing was about noon at the Electrical Engineering building in a basement classroom at Purdue University in Indiana. Both were teacher assistants for the same professor. Police were trying to establish a motive.

April 12, 2012 Pastor's mother shot at Destiny Christian Center Josephine Echols, African American mother of the pastor at Destiny Christian Center near Aurora Colorado was shot and killed when she ran out to investigate when suspect 29-year-old Kiarron Parke Kiarron Parker crashed his nearly new Dodge charger into the parking lot. Parker tried to shoot at church members who rushed outside, but when his gun started working, he hit Echols. Parker's friend told police that Parker became upset Sunday afternoon and left in a car, while his friend followed in another car. Police announced it was a "complete random act, the church wasn’t targeted". Parker had several previous arrests in Aurora, the site of the "Batman" theater massacre, for drug possession, traffic violations, failing to appear, theft and resisting arrest. There was no evidence it was part of a pattern of attacks against African American churches.
Sandy Hook - no motive
Virginia Tech - no motive revealed in his manifesto other than anger.
Fort Hood Nidal Hasan - federal government, FBI, Army found no motive though others pointed at Anwar Al Awlaki Taliban and Al Qaeda terrorist connections.
Lee Harvey Oswald - no motive established. Local police thought he was part of a communist conspiracy.
