July 23, 24 2013 28-year-old Edwin Alemany allegedly murdered Amy Lord of South Boston and was arrested in two other attacks on women. She was kidnapped and forced to withdraw money from banks, then her Jeep was found burning and her body was found that afternoon. Two other attacks occurred early on the mornings of July 23 and July 24. Lord was attacked the morning of July 23, in between the time of the two other attacks. He told the first woman told the first woman he attacked, “I’m not robbing you. I’m going to kill you”, punched her in the face and dragged her by the legs into a parking lot" but then told her “You’re not the one I’m looking for. I’m sorry. I have a hit out for a female pushing a baby carriage walking with a male wearing a white shirt” Alemany was arrested at Tufts Medical Center, where he sought treatment, initially claiming he had been stabbed in the hand in an argument at a South Boston gas station. 

June 8, 2015 update Edwin Alemany found guilty of the murder of Amy Lord Jun 08, 2015 BOSTON (WHDH) A jury in Boston found Edwin Alemany guilty of the 2013 murder of 24-year-old Amy Lord. Her body was found dumped in Hyde Park. Alemany was led out of court in handcuffs.

Alemany had been arrested and convicted numerous times for car thefts and at least two assaults, including stabbing the driver of a car he threw a stone at. He also has kicked a nurse and a security officer in a hospital. He had served multiple jail sentences and had only been released months before in March 2012, though officials believe the sentences were reasonable. He was not arrested in September 2012 when he strangled a woman who gave police Alemany's wallet, but the detective did not follow up and was later demoted.

Lord, 24, a South Boston resident, was beaten, kidnapped, forced to withdraw money from several ATMs and then fatally stabbed on July 23. Her body was left at Stony Brook Reservation in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Boston

Lord graduated from Minnechaug Regional High School in 2007 and then Bentley University in Waltham. She was working as an online marketing specialist in Boston.

The Boston marathon bombers also carjacked a driver.

He demanded she drive her to various locations across Everett, and park downtown, where he robbed a Wells Fargo bank with his gun and the student had to wait, telling her he would track her down from her licence plate and kill her if she fled. He then had her drive back to the original location. She was uninjured and the told the police.

    Timeline: 6 a.m. Tuesday. She had just left the apartment she shared with several other women on Dorchester Street and was just a few feet from her front door when she was kidnapped....

    47 minutes, police believe, she was in her Jeep with at least one captor, who forced her to withdraw money from banks in South Boston and Dorchester, all within about 2 miles of each other.

    8:37 a.m., Boston police and fire officials responded to a call for a burning car at 26 Logan Way in South Boston. It was a black Jeep that police later learned was registered to Lord.

    11 a.m., someone reported to police in South Boston that Lord was missing after she missed an appointment.

    4:21 p.m., a man riding his bicycle through Stony Brook Reservation in Hyde Park found Lord’s body in the woods.

    The two nonfatal attacks on the women occurred early on the mornings of July 23 and July 24. Lord was attacked the morning of July 23, in between the time of the two other attacks.
    Alemany allegedly told the first woman he attacked, “I’m not robbing you. I’m going to kill you,” said prosecutor John Pappas. But after punching her in the face and dragging her by the legs into a parking lot, he said, “You’re not the one I’m looking for. I’m sorry.”
    “I have a hit out for a female pushing a baby carriage walking with a male wearing a white shirt,” he told her, according to Pappas.

    Neither Alemany nor his lawyer spoke in court but defense attorney Jeffrey Denner told reporters afterward, “This is somebody with a long, long history of serious mental illness. ... There is an issue here of whether the system functioned in a way that protected him and protected the public. None of that is an excuse. This is all an explanation and context for what is a horrible tragedy.”
