June 5, 2016 Nicole Herschel Runs Over Kills Hongfen Shen Stages Scene In Calabasas, California near Los Angeles, a pickup truck driven by horse trainer Nicole Herschel hit two women from China, killing the mother 53-year-old Hongfen Shen. She moved the dying mother to the curb, parked nearby and told police she wasn't the one who hit them, but pled no contest to vehicular manslaughter and sentenced to one year in jail and authorities declined felony hit-and-run and tampering with evidence charges.
Detail: In Calabasas, a pickup truck driven by horse trainer Nicole Herschel slammed into Yijing Chen Pepperdine University graduate student from China and her mother 53-year-old Hongfen Shen at a freeway ramp crosswalk. The driver got out, and yelled at the women "Why are you guys walking when the light is red?" though the light was green and CHP determined that Herschel failed to yield to the pedestrians. She said later she was only helping when she dragged the dying mother toward the curb. She told police she did not know she had hit the women and only noticed them after she was taking care of her dog. California Highway Patrol found her answers evasive, and found marks on truck proving she had hit the victims. and recommended felony hit-and-run and tampering with evidence. The district attorney’s office judged the case was beyond reasonable doubt so filed only misdemeanor manslaughter with one year of jail. Herschel pleaded no contest to vehicular manslaughter, apologized to the daughter and was sentenced to one year in jail.

This review has definitely been a long time coming. In short, I fired Nicole Rose a little over a year ago for: (1) causing permanent, almost career-ending injuries to my show horse, (2) fraudulent/illegal billing practices, (3) questionable training practices, (4) mismanagement of my horse while in full training, causing him to repeatedly lose significant amounts of weight (hundreds of pounds) and be lame/off for much of the time while in her program, (5) very misleading and deceptive communications and (6) regular and reckless disregard for the truth. I have hundreds of pictures, emails, texts and similar evidence to back up each of these truthful claims.
Despite all of this, I told her when I left her program that I just wanted to move on and not make an issue of any of it for her, mostly because it was obvious she was having personal problems and I felt sorry for her. Unfortunately, she has recently chosen to use my horse (while badmouthing me) to promote her "skills" and her business, all of this without my permission. I have spent thousands of dollars rehabbing this horse after what her training program did to him, and have told her repeatedly she does not have my permission to use images or videos of him to promote a program that almost ruined him. She has not only chosen to ignore my request (despite lying and telling me she took photos/videos down), but also texted me and emailed me in response with a slew of crazy and unprofessional insults and threats.
Long story short, in my time as Nicole's client I was repeatedly lied to and about, treated like an ATM machine, double- and/or over-charged, expected to pay for things that I later learned were not market and was left with a broken horse requiring many months of retraining and paychecks to get back to his former glory (he's much better now and has been sound and healthy since being rehabbed and in a new program). She continues to take no responsibility for any of her actions, and has instead opted to scapegoat anyone who doesn't remain loyal to her delusions. Where there's smoke there's fire, so please be careful, particularly if you're entrusting her with the care of your horse or the safety of your child. Happy to answer any inquiries about my experience while there and the continuing nightmare since I've left.

Nicole is a confirmed con artist and thief. She took photos of our ranch and has posted them on Facebook as Vineyard View Ranch which is neither the name of our ranch or done with my permission. She robbed us of boarding fees for her 8 horses and 3 others using her as their agent, claimed to be currently broke but had money coming in, then cancelled all checks of her own and her customers, bragged how she stole one horse, lied that she was attending a clinic and disappeared to Sycamore Farm in Malibu. We were warned about her, confronted her, and she explained as it turned out to be dishonest. When we warned the stable she went to, shed sent us a very threatening text msg. and told us if we showed up at that stable again, she would have us arrested. Since she doesn't own that stable, she's full of hot air. However, she will run out of stables to go to if she continues abusing nice people, her horses, and moving around every month or so.

Don't get yourself involved with Nicole Rose Herschel unless you want to be conned. Why on earth would you trust a woman who has screwed many people out of money, lies constantly and was recently convicted of manslaughter (just research her), all why lying and tampering with evidence (including dragging the body of the woman she hit so she could back up her truck and pretend she wasn't responsible). The day after her conviction, instead of being in jail, she was parading around a horse show acting like a model (and I use this term loosely) and posting gag-worthy photos of herself on social media. This woman does nothing but con people and cause drama, and you literally cannot believe one word that comes out of her mouth. As a former client, I was a target for my money, but I'm so glad I got my daughter out of such a terrible situation. She changes barns and her business name constantly to avoid detection from unwitting new clients who won't be able to easily research her. She's now doing business as Malibu Riding Club, and the website associated with it is very careful not to mention her by name once. She also constantly tries to get truthful online reviews deleted, and is working pretty hard recently to erase her online presence. Huge red flag and pathetic tactic! If only she worked this hard at actually doing her job. You can only run from your lies for so long before they catch up with you, especially in such a small town.

Absolutely awful business with a ridiculously immature and immoral head trainer. Clients are spoken about very negatively behind their backs, and then are lied horrifically about if they make the smart decision to leave. The head trainer has heaps of financial woes, so keep an eye on your money and tack. She will find ways of creatively separating you from both. Horse care is a joke, and it's all drama all the time. There are much more professional facilities if you're serious about riding and want to be around people who are actually respected and respectful in the business. Yes the grounds are beautiful, but there are many ways to visit Saddlerock without entangling yourself in this disaster.

the driver has no remorse whatsoever. She even tried to cover the evidence. When the girl asked for help right after the driver ran over the person, the driver yelled at her "it is red light" while in fact it was green light for pedestrians. She hid evidence, lied to the police, and does not show any remorse until when her remorse matters to the judge. She is a demon. Furthermore, the prosecutors didn't care about it. They charged her a hit and run. thats it. there is no lying, no destroying evidence. The judge even said the driver is good person. This is crazy. Its like the whole American justice system people, even the ones seem to be on her side, are bullying the victim for the sake of a white privileged, wealthy, and perfectly backed girl. It is pathetic. American justice? It never existed.

She stooped visiting her doctor as she told me she could no longer afford it. I asked her to pursue money compensation but she told me,what’s the money for without her mum alive? She even refused donation from the school and friends. I wish I could do something for her,she is such a marvelous girl!

I am certain that's with the judge took into consideration when allowing her to stay out of jail until January. She needs to make proper arrangements for a very young child. As you may recall there was a car seat in the truck. I know it seems glamorous when you hear she is a Malibu horse trailer, but I can tell you from experience as a horse trainer you barely make a living wage and you are frequently injured and work long miserable hours. For those of you who are screaming for a civil suit to go after everything she owns and her home as well, I can tell you she owns nothing. The meager amount of money she makes goes toward her child. This whole argument just has me shaking me head. Are you serious? Maybe she should have thought about her daughter a little more when she was busy covering her tracks in the most disgusting ways possible, including days after the accident when surely she should have had some time to think about her actions. This is clearly a person with all the traits of a sociopath, and it's pretty sick that you're coming to her defense. It's not like her behavior in this accident is a one-off; she has a history of shady and disgusting behavior. Plus, by Yijing's own admission throughout these comments, it's clear that Nicole Rose continues to blame the victims as recently as last week. This woman has no empathy and has learned NOTHING. She's a con who continues to lie and manipulate her way out of accountability. Moreover, her actions of dragging Yijing's mother may have actually contributed to her death days later. That's INTENT!!

It seems pretty obvious she's bringing up the apartment because her family did what they had to when their circumstances changed, whereas Ms. Herschel claims she has no money, yet feels so entitled to live and work in Malibu despite supposedly not being able to afford it. Ms. Herschel has a string of horses that she owns, and has repeatedly failed to pay the board for them and has gotten kicked out of several area barns because of it. She also fails to pay her rent. How about moving somewhere you can actually afford and being accountable instead of cheating nice people out of their money? Also, this "accident" became a crime when Ms. Herschel dragged the victim's body (which could have contributed to her death) and proceeded down a tunnel of lies to cover her tracks. That's intent at that point, not an accident. She deserves to go to jail for much longer than a year, and people are right to be outraged that the D.A. dropped the felony ball. Yijing has every right to be emotional, as does every person who is outraged for her. It's called empathy. Nicole might want to look into it.

To say that "she is not evil" despite knowing her intentional acts of BLAMING the victims, MOVING the body to pretend that she didn't do it, then LYING to the police, then SCRUBBING away the evidence is to be dumb or dishonest beyond help, just like those scumbags and t@rds named "brandolino" and "bravo". If those series of intentional acts to lay fault upon the victims and absolve herself of all responsibility are not evil, then I'm not sure what would be.
When people like you say "I am sorry that you misunderstood me", what do you mean? What are you "sorry" for, and to whom are you actually "sorry"? Thank you Sir,when the truck's wheel crushed my mommy's pelvis,the bones were crushed,when you moved the body,apparently,it accelerated the internal bleeding and made the bones separated more severe.Because when I was in hospital,the doctor who operated the surgery for my mommy told me he could not stop the internal bleeding.
When I told the above gentleman my mommy sold our house and moved to a filthy and tiny apartment,he thought this is a misunderstanding,meaning Nicole Herschel could continue paying for expensive rent and living comfortable life at Malibu.

And if you google search Nicole at Sycamore Farms, you would know it is not just me suffered the loss, her client also pointed out she is a liar based on her Google reviews. So I am sure the above review was writtten by misleading the facts and with strong personal affiliation with Nicole who ran over us and ran.

To downplay her heinous actions of LYING to the police, TAMPERING with evidence, and BLAMING the victims as merely not being "perfectly rational and calm" is like saying that Jeffery Dahmer could not stay with a perfectly healthy diet. If the situation had been reversed , where it was a Chinese person who ran over nicole herschel, moved her body, lied to police, blamed her for the crime, and scrubbed away the evidence, would you still say that the Chinese person could not be blamed for not being "perfectly rational and calm"? No matter how you try to finagle out of the atrocious facts of the crime, it's still extremely obvious that you're a sch!t of a person just like nicole herschel, and probably would commit similar criminal acts as she did without conscience.
