Jeremy Corbyn: Death of Osama Bin Laden was a tragedy and left world more dangerous mmc news
JEREMY CORBYN has been blasted for describing the death of 9/11 mastermind Osama Bin Laden as a “tragedy”.
The Labour leadership favourite said killing the former head of the terror super group al-Qaeda left the world a “more dangerous” place.
The slip-up came during an interview with Press TV, the English-language mouthpiece of the Iranian government.
He said: “There was no attempt whatsoever that I can see to arrest him and put him on trial, to go through that process.
In the clip – which aired in 2011, shortly after Bin Laden’s death - he continued: “The World Trade Center was a tragedy, the attack on Afghanistan was a tragedy, the war in Iraq was a tragedy. Tens of thousands of people have died.
“The next stage will be an attempted assassination on Gaddafi and so it will go on.
"This will just make the world more dangerous and worse and worse and worse.”
