A car parked in the road driven by Jeremiah Sanchez, 23 put it in gear and sped toward the police. One officer was hit by the car and police opened fire on the driver, striking him in the neck and arm, Varn said. The car sped off on East State Street before crashing into several parked cars.

The pilot called out “Mayday” three times during flight, reporting "flameout" or loss of one engine. The plane is capable of flying on one engine, but thrust in both engines was lost as the crew for unknown reasons shut down the left engine after a warning light for the right engine went on, and did not restart it in time. 31 of the plane’s 58 passengers, including the pilot and co-pilot, have been confirmed dead.  Authorities denied an unconfirmed report that the captain, Liao Chien-tsung, had complained of "engine abnormalities" after a previous flight and requested an urgent inspection of the plane shortly before its final take-off, but had been rebuffed.

Tyler and Davenport are each charged with four counts each of assault, use of a handgun in a felony or violent crime and reckless endangerment. They're both also charged with conspiracy to commit assault. Police would not comment on the motive, but they said there is a gang connection and the victims and the defendants knew each other.

A Stokes County school official told FOX8 the two children were students at Poplar Springs Elementary School.School was only in session for half a day today. Sheriff’s Department has not determined a motive for the killings nor have they identified the killer.

Police say around 3:30 Tuesday afternoon two patrol officers were in the area of Meramec and Minnesota and spotted Ledarius Williams ... two patrol officers spotted Ledarius Williams. Officers say the 23-year-old suspect took off running, holding his waistband. when the officers caught up with him, a struggle ensued and Williams pulled out a handgun.Police say Williams pointed the gun at the officers and that's when an officer fired at him. Williams was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Officials have charged Ashley Curry, 31, with felony aggravated assault and ethnic intimidation. They say she shot Jamie Roland, 31, in the Musser's Market parking lot in Columbia, Lancaster County. Police say Curry was arguing with another woman, Alicia Glenn-McCowin, when Roland tried to intervene. Officials say that's when Curry fired one shot, hitting Roland in the abdomen. Roland is in stable condition Wednesday morning and is expected to recover.
