January 22, 2013 Lone Star College Shooting 2013 Three people were injured in a shooting Lone Star College at North Harris in Texas. The gunman believed to be Carlton Berry, was heard arguing before he returned and pulled out a handgun from his backpack. The gunman shot Jody Neal three times, and a shot a maintenance man in the leg, then shot himself as he replaced his gun which was not recovered. Charges against Carlton Berry were dropped after he pointed authorities to Trey Foster, 22 as being the shooter. Quanell X, a community activist and a spokesman for Foster's family was told by Foster that Berry was just a victim.
The Sheriff stated "It was a ridiculous, adolescent confrontation that occurred." Berry has been arrested in 2011 and 2012 for possession of marijuana and in 2009 on a theft charge. 25-year-old Jody Neal was also shot in his abdomen and leg. Neal had been convicted of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in 2004 and misdemeanor assault in 2010.

Investigators said the shooting stemmed from a dispute between two men. At least 10 shots were fired, according to Sheriff Adrian Garcia.
"What we had here was idiocy, stupidity," Garcia said. "We had individuals who did not care about putting other people in harm's way. It was a ridiculous, adolescent confrontation that occurred."
The maintenance man, Bobby Cliburn, was shot in the leg. He was released from a hospital on Wednesday.
Investigators said Berry accidentally shot himself in the leg while he was putting his gun back into his pocket
