No Motive Why Bosnian Shut Down Airport with Fake Bomb

No Motive Why Bosnian Shut Down Airport with Fake Bomb
October 1, 2013 At the Jacksonville International Airport in Florida, 39 year old Zeljko Causevic told a Transportation Security Administration agent, “I got a bomb in here” After it had been removed in a bomb container, his camouflage backpack was opened to reveal luggage scale with batteries and a microchip and a cellphone, while they found a remote control device which Causevic described as a “detonator” on him. Hundreds were evacuated from the airport, and two dozen flights were canceled. Officials have no clue as to the motive for incident. Front Page believes it is consistent with a suspicious number of “hoax” incidents which may be security tests, and notes that Causevic is a common last name for Muslim Bosniak and imams, so "it’s a reasonably safe bet that Zeljko Causevic is a Muslim". While his likely religious affiliation is unconfirmed, Frontpage also established that the suspect is voter who is registered as a Democrat.

Florida: Bosnian immigrant causes lockdown after airport bomb threat

A day after hundreds were evacuated from Jacksonville International Airport, two dozen flights were canceled or rerouted and the word “bomb” resonated in the corridors, it’s still unknown what prompted a Jacksonville man to set it all off.
Authorities said a man arrested at Jacksonville International Airport told security screeners he had a bomb in his backpack but they only found a luggage scale with a microchip inside, along with a remote control device he called a “detonator.”
Zeljko Causevic, 39, was booked into jail early Wednesday and is being held on a $1 million bond on charges that included making a false report about planting a bomb or explosive and manufacturing, possessing, selling or delivering a hoax bomb, according to an arrest report.
The arrest report indicates Causevic approached a TSA agent Tuesday and said he had a bomb in his bag. The TSA agents notified authorities. Airport spokesman Michael Stewart said Causevic was detained between 5:30 and 6 p.m. The airport was evacuated and flights were stopped before reaching the gates. Passengers were displaced for nearly five hours.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — A judge set bail at $1 million Wednesday for a man accused of telling security screeners at the Jacksonville International Airport he had a bomb in his backpack, prompting the evacuation of the airport. Authorities did not find any explosives.
Zeljko Causevic, 39, remained silent during his brief hearing before Duval County Court Judge Russell Healey on charges of making a false report about planting a bomb and possessing a hoax bomb.
According to a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office arrest report, Causevic, a U.S. citizen who is originally from Bosnia, approached a Transportation Security Administration agent Tuesday, saying he had a device in his camouflage backpack that was “supposed to be a bomb, but it’s not.” Inside the backpack, officials found a small luggage scale with two batteries and a microchip. He told authorities he had a “detonator,” which was a remote control device, and his bag also contained a cellphone.
The Joint Terrorism Task Force interviewed Causevic and he was arrested.
The threat shut down the airport for about five hours Tuesday night, delaying outbound flights and stranding passengers on planes on the tarmac.
It was unclear whether Causevic was getting onto a flight, and authorities have not released a motive. The FBI, airport police and the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office are continuing to investigate.
Phone numbers listed for Causevic were disconnected.

Muslim Democrat Shuts Down Jacksonville Airport with Bomb Hoax

Story
There have been a suspicious number of “hoax” incidents that look a lot like security tests at airports and on planes.
Jacksonville International Airport in Florida was closed for six hours after a man going through security told a checker that he had a bomb hidden inside his camouflage backpack, authorities said Wednesday.
The man, Zeljko Causevic, was charged with having a hoax bomb. He told authorities that the device — a luggage scale with two batteries and a microchip, plus a remote “detonator” — was “supposed to be a bomb, but it’s not.”
Causevic was scheduled to appear in bond court in Jacksonville Wednesday afternoon. An arrest report indicates he is originally from Bosnia.
Causevic is a common Bosniak last name. There have been a number of Muslim figures with that name so it’s a reasonably safe bet that Zeljko Causevic is a Muslim. And likely another of the Muslim refugees from troubled spots allowed into the United States.
While his religious affiliation is unconfirmed, his political status as a Registered Democrat is.
