Ahmed released on hostage. After he told police he would kill the hostages, police stormed the bank, and the suspect shot two hostages killing one and the other died in the hospital before he was shot and killed by police.

Police believe it was a planned attack as Ahmed had books about hostage negotiations, not a bank robbery. Police believe he was angry at people who were "mean to him" and had voices in his head. Authorities did not make any connection to his Facebook endorsement of Islam or terrorism. He blamed his ex-girlfriend's family for their breakup and had placed a device of some kind in his head. He had been interviewed by Homeland Security about a picture of him posing with an AK-47 assault rifle in Yemen on Facebook but he denied any ties or beliefs in terrorism. An official police investigation determined he acted as a lone gunman with no ties to terrorism, but counterjihad pundits believe that the media and government whitewashed his obvious affinity for Islamist terrorism and associated mental illness and electronic conspiracy theory cover stories.

On August 13, 2013, a gunman, identified as 20-year-old Fuaed Abdo Ahmed, took two women and a man hostage at the St. Joseph branch of Tensas State Bank. He killed two of the hostages after releasing the third. A subsequent police investigation officially concluded that Ahmed suffered from mental health issues and acted alone.  The Federal Bureau of Investigation had interviewed Ahmed in April while he was visiting in the terrorist haven of Yemen who assured authorities he was not a terrorist. Despite obvious links to radicalized Islam pointed out by counterterrorist pundits, the incident has never been classified as an act of terrorism.

Details[edit]

On August 13, 2013, Ahmed entered the St. Joseph branch of Tensas State Bank, armed with both a handgun and an AK-47rifle. His duffel bag was packed with items that he planned to use to torture his hostages.[1] He held three people hostage: Charles Henry "Jay" Warbington, Jr., of Wisner in Franklin Parish;[2] Patricia White; and Tamara LaDean Hopkins McDaniel.[3] All three were employees at the bank for more than twenty years. During negotiations, state police superintendent, Colonel Mike Edmonson, located a friend of Ahmed's in Alaska, who talked him into releasing one of the hostages, Patricia White. According to Edmondson, Ahmed was "mad at people that he said were mean to him. He had voices in his head."[4] Authorities said that Ahmed believed the family of his ex-girlfriend in Lake Providence had caused their breakup and had placed a "microphone device" of some kind in his head.[5][6]

Eventually, Ahmed shot the remaining two hostages. Warbington died at the scene, while McDaniel was critically wounded and died two days later at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria.[6] Soon afterward, the Louisiana State Police broke into the bank and fatally shot Ahmed.[1][4] It did not appear that Ahmed knew the hostages,[1] but the hostages recognized him.[5]

Died August 13, 2013 (aged 20)
St. Joseph, Tensas Parish, Louisiana

Motive Possible mental illness

Fuaed Abdo Ahmed (c. 1993 – August 13, 2013) was identified as the hostage-taker and shooter. His family owned a Trak service station located across the street from the bank. His parents were from Yemen. According to Ahmed onFacebook, he was born in Fresno, California, and was a "fan" of comedian Jerry Seinfield and rapper Eminem, and that he was Muslim.[4]

Ahmed had been a football player at the private Briarfield Academy, located in Lake Providence in East Carroll Parish in far northeastern Louisiana. His coach, Ben Durham, said that Ahmed had 2,700 rushing yards and 40 touchdowns in his senior year. Durham described Ahmed as never displaying aggressive behavior when playing football, "He was a normal good kid. It's not like he ever had any fits of rage. Ever." Sometime later, Durham said that he had a Facebook conversation with Ahmed and noticed the emergence of his paranoid tendencies.[7]
FBI encounter on April 2013[edit]

On August 23, 2013, it was disclosed that the Federal Bureau of Investigation had interviewed Ahmed in April while he was visiting in Yemen; his family reported him missing or possibly kidnapped. Ahmed told the agents that he had not been kidnapped and was hearing voices in his head and at times felt suicidal but claimed he would not injure others. Ahmed was also interviewed in June by the Department of Homeland Security in Los Angeles, when he returned to the United States fromYemen. Agents asked him about a Facebook photo posted of himself holding an AK-47 rifle in Yemen. During this interview, DHS said that Ahmed denied any criminal activity or inclination toward terrorism. Authorities in Los Angeles conducted their own evaluation of Ahmed and placed him a medical facility for several days of mental evaluation.[8]
Mental health problems[edit]

On March 12, 2014, state police confirmed after a months-long investigation that Ahmed had been treated at a California hospital several weeks prior to the shooting for paranoid schizophrenia. His brother, Yasser, told police that Ahmed had employed yoga for six hours a day in a vain attempt to "cure himself", rather than taking medication prescribed by doctors.[9]Police found in Ahmed's room a bottle of Risperidone, a drug used to treat schizophrenia; only three of the sixty pills were missing.[5] Yasser confirmed too that Ahmed had used narcotics and bath salts before he left Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where he had been a short-term student.

An investigation found that the four-member SWAT team that breached the bank fired a total of twelve shots and struck Ahmed eight times, finding the police actions justifiable. In a letter found inside the vehicle that he drove to the bank, Ahmed claimed to have ended his ties to Islam, his family, and Middle Eastern culture and heritage. Instead, he extolled his American citizenship and said that he had become a "born again Christian".[9] Even with those claims, Ahmed contradicted himself when he wrote in the letter, seen by officials as a last will and testament, that neither whites nor non-Muslims could attend his funeral.[5]
Aftermath[edit]

Some 300 St. Joseph residents came together on the evening of August 20 to commemorate the victims. Ronny McDaniel, the husband of Tamara McDaniel, told the gathering that he is relying on his faith, saying, "I know in my heart it was meant to be. It was God's will to take them home. If they could come back right now, they wouldn't come back. I just believe they're in a better place."[10]

Robby White, husband of Patricia White, the hostage who was released, explained the loss to the community:

This tragedy wasn't on the scale of 9/11, but it had the same effect on this community. There's no way to describe the feelings that each of us felt when we discovered the situation had turned so very wrong. We became stunned, shocked and so damn angry.[10]

Colonel Edmonson addressed the gathering and announced a thorough investigation would be undertaken to determine why Ahmed attacked the bank and its employees. Edmonson said that a final report since released would attempt to reveal Ahmed's state of mind to help perhaps prevent future attacks of this kind.[10]

Your Day in Whitewashed Muslim Bank Robbers & Hostage Takers – Hey, Another Outstanding DREAMer Amnesty Candidate

I was out all day for something having to do with Homeland Security, but shhhhh!, I can’t talk about it. While I was out, though, it turned out that the guy who tried to rob the Louisiana bank, early this morning, and took hostages was a member of the “Religion of Peace.” And yet another of those scintillating, outstanding DREAMers. Twenty-year-oldFuaed Abdo Ahmed, who took two women and a man captive–shooting and killing one of them and critically injuring another–is an immigrant from Yemen. You know, those immigrant kids the Wall Street Journal is telling us are the next Elon Musk or Abraham Lincoln. You know, those kids who are “valedictorians” waiting to happen. Yes, this guy was a naturalized U.S. citizen, but he is no different from others his age who are eligible for DREAMer amnesty, and there are plenty of them who might have done this.
Bank Robbing Killer & Muslim Scumbag Fuad Ahmed
Oh, and did I mention that while his deadly, jihadist bank robbery may have been the result of his self-professed devotion to Islam, it’s already being dismissed as the usual “Halal Twinkie Defense”: that he was a paranoid schizophrenic . . . a condition that seems to affect a disproportionate percentage of followers of Mohammed and his moon god?
Eventually, Ahmed told negotiators he was going to kill the two remaining hostages. State police entered the building just before midnight Tuesday. That’s when Ahmed shot the two hostages and then police shot and killed him, Edmonson said. Charla Ducote, spokeswoman for Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, La., said the wounded hostage, LaDean McDaniel, was in critical condition on Wednesday. Jones said she was on life support in the afternoon.
The slain hostage was identified by the sheriff as Jay Warbington. The hostages were both shot with a handgun. Edmonson said Ahmed also had a duffel bag containing items he was going to use to torture the hostages. “His intent was to inflict pain and kill these individuals,” Edmunson said. Authorities say Ahmed didn’t use what was in the bag. State police didn’t immediately say what was in it.

Jones said Ahmed had recently traveled to California and Yemen, returning two or three weeks ago. Jones said at some point he’d been receivingtreatment for mental issues. Still, the gunman’s brother told the sheriff he hadn’t displayed any signs of violence recently. . . .
Edmonson said Ahmed’s parents were from Yemen, but he was a U.S. citizen. The detailed list of grievances and demands gave no indication that he had a political or religious motive, Edmonson said. On a Facebook page under Ahmed’s name, Ahmed describes himself as a native of Fresno, Calif. The page includes photos of him smiling and wearing a baseball cap backward, and with friends. Ahmed discusses philosophy of life from the Tao Te Ching, a 6th century BC Chinese text, and is a fan of comedian Jerry Seinfield, rapper Eminem and Islam. He makes no specific references to political or religious extremism.
Huh? Islam isn’t political or religiious extremism?
Only if your head is buried in the Saharan sand.
Say a prayer for Fuad Ahmed’s victims, who might still be alive and/or unwounded today, if he were not given citizenship and allowed into this country from Yemen.

Wally, I never understand what you’re talking about even thou’ it’s in English that you write. I think. Your track record is intact!
Indeed. This story I read lead with Schizophrenic rather than the most apt Mooooooslim. The one I read didn’t mention Islam at all. But I knew better.
I’m glad this site keeps track of them. It’s annoying and troubling how under-the-radar anything Moooooslim goes. It must be “workplace violence” dontcha know???

1. Why are we letting this “things” into our country? 2. It seems every convenience store is run by these people. I used to live in Louisiana (about a hr north of Alexandria.) Even the tiniest Podunk town had a store run/owned by one of Mo’s minions.

All Americans will come to regret allowing-even encouraging- Muslims tocontinue to grow and gain influence here. Why so difficult for so many to recognize and admit what is perfectly obvious?
Anywhere and everywhere in the world from Islam’s inception until now, more Muslims have without exception meant mortal danger.

I read a couple other articles that are out there about this too. I find it strange that “Ahmed didn’t exhibit aggressive behavior while playing football”, as stated in one article in the Denver Post I think it was. And I also find it strange that neighbors heard gun shots coming from Ahmed’s house the two days prior to his terrorist act, but that it wasn’t unusual enough for them to call the police about it. Just astonishing!
Red Randy on August 14, 2013 at 8:46 pm
Yes, and he left a note blaming his ex-girlfriend’s family for causing their break up…Looks like they were right! Go figure.

BTW, since I found out that the freako that kidnapped and murdered Amy Lord in South Boston was named Edwin Alemany I have wondered if he was a Moooooooooslim or a Lebanese Christian.
He looks either one…
Thus far, no one mentions it and no one cares….

This is terrible. Doesn’t this Muslim know only whites can shoot and not have their race blamed?

That’s what I’m wondering. I mean, conservatives contend that “Muslim” is not a race yet they support ethnic profiling of Muslims. How do you profile a race that, according to conservatives, does not exist?
Titanic Dude on August 15, 2013 at 7:38 pm
Dude, it’s not about his race, nobody cares about that, it’s about his chosen faux religion, the “religion of peace.”

Earlier Tuesday, Edmonson said that the man had been calm and had made some demands, but he would not describe the demands or further identify the gunman.
'We're still working with him to determine exactly what his intent is,' Edmonson said.
The gunman, carrying at least a handgun, took two women and a man captive about 12:30 p.m. at the Tensas State Bank branch in St. Joseph, and a negotiator talked with him throughout the afternoon, said Trooper Albert Paxton, a state police spokesman.

The last thing Fuaed Abdo Ahmed posted on his Facebook page—just hours before before taking hostages at a Louisiana bank Tuesday and being shot and killed by police as a result—was a photo of a man wielding a sword and jumping to attack a tank with it.
Only one Facebook user commented on the photo as of Wednesday morning at 6 a.m.; Twylia McKinney Joiner shared the photo and wrote: “This is the last post made by the man who held 3 people hostage in a Tensas bank. If there really is someone monitoring our facebook posts, this guy slipped through the cracks. There has to be an answer, but I’ll be the first to admit that I have absolutely no idea what that is!”
The photo of the man jumping at the tank was also accompanied by a quote. Ahmed quoted science fiction author Robert A. Heinlein, from his 1940 novel If This Goes On:
“When any government, or any church for that matter, undertakes to say to its subjects, ‘This you may not read, this you must not see, this you are forbidden to know,’ the end result is tyranny and oppression, no matter how holy the motives. Mighty little force is needed to control a man whose mind has been hoodwinked; contrariwise, no amount of force can control a  free man, a man whose mind is free. No, not the rack, not fission bombs, not anything–you can’t conquer a free man; the most you can do is kill him.”
Ahmed also posted a cartoon on August 10 showing a hostage situation. In the cartoon, a masked gunman holds a hostage and says, “I’ll release the hostage if you give me a sandwich!” Two police officers outside are shown. One says “How close is the nearest deli?” The other answers, “Three blocks.” The first officer says through a megaphone, “Okay, you can kill the hostage.”
St. Joseph Mayor Edward Brown convered with Ahmed about an hour before the standoff began...Brown described Ahmed as “just normal. That’s why it’s so bizarre to me.”
Several acquaintances, including the town’s mayor, said they saw no signs of trouble with Ahmed before the shooting.

Bass said the house has been occupied by a group of men for several years, and she didn’t recall any women or children living there during that time.
“I didn’t know them well,” she said. “Some were friendly and would wave and say ‘hi,’ but some were standoffish and wouldn’t speak to me.”
..
Ahmed was mentally unstable and had written a letter “detailing exactly what he was going to do,” Edmonson said.
“He was mad at people that he said were mean to him,” he said. “He had voices in his head.”
Edmonson said the man grew increasingly erratic as negotiations went on, sometimes hanging up on police. One of his demands to authorities was that they get the device out of his head, Edmonson said.
Epoch Times staff member Zachary Stieber and The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Fuaed Abdo Ahmed – Muslim Louisiana bank robber dead

Fuaed Abdo Ahmed has been identified as the man who robbed the Tensas State Bank in St. Joseph, Louisiana. The Muslim bank robber who is now dead held three people hostage. He released one, but shot two others who are now in critical condition. Fuaed Abdo Ahmed was shot dead by police. Already the excuses for Fuaed Abdo Ahmed’s actions are being given. You see, it’s all because he had paranoid schizophrenia. So the next time there is a bank robbery, make sure to find out if the robber has paranoid schizophrenia so they’ll have an excuse. Reports are that Fuaed Abdo Ahmed had a Facebook page. If this really is his Facebook page, he doesn’t seem to be any more unusual than anyone else on Facebook.

Update: Maybe it wasn’t a bank robbery? Jihad maybe?

NEW DETAIL: Gunman who took hostages in LA. bank planned attack; was not robbery, police say. He had books about hostage negotiations @KNOE8

One hostage was released without harm. Lets hope the two who were shot by Ahmed recover.

    • mable The boy was sick and scared. He thought he could get rid of the voices if he got the government's attention. Christians have done some of the worst school shootings ever. No-one says Jesus told them to do it. This was a tragedy like any other.
