Police were ordered not arrest the “young people” but contacted their parents. Fires were also reported on a smaller scale in Malmo, Sweden’s third largest city.(4) Many of these areas with large mostly muslim migrant populations and high rates of violence have been described as “no-go zones.” (4) Russia Today noted Sweden has been plagued by crime waves of vandalism, rapes and murders. In 2017 Sweden saw over 300 confirmed shooting incidents killing 41 people and wounding 135. Swedish Democrats party member Nima Gholam Ali Pour told Russia Today they lack police resources as the influx of migrants has worsened crime activity (1). Car arson in Sweden has doubled every 10 years since 1998, with 1,457 incidents recorded in 2017.(5)
