  2. 5 June 2017 Yacqub Khayre Islamist Inspired Austalia Gunman 2 killed including suspect suicide by police 3 police wounded  Brighton, a suburb of Melbourne, Australia 29 year old Somali-born Yacqub Khayre shot dead receptionist Kai Hao at an apartment complex, took a female escort hostage and contacted police while citing ISIS and al-Qaeda. Khayre died in a shoot out with three police officers wounded. In 2010 he had been acquitted of the Holsworthy Barracks terror plot which involved anotherfour men connected with the Somali-based terrorist group al-Shabaab. In 2009 Khayre had traveled an Al Shabab terrorist camp in Somalia. He had been arrested in 2011 for possession of a firearm, and in 2012 for drug-affected home invasion In 2007, at the age of 19, Khayre was sentenced for more than 40 offences, including multiple counts of burglary, aggravated burglary, theft, unlawful assault and drug possession.

  4. 2017 Qatar diplomatic crisis Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt sever diplomatic ties with Qatar, ordering Qatari citizens in those countries to be expelled as well as cutting all land, air and sea connections. "National security," "media incitement" and Qatar's support of Iran are variously cited. (The Guardian) "The countries said they planned to break off all land, air and sea traffic with Qatar, and eject its diplomats from their territories. Qatar was also expelled from a Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen. Yemen’s internationally backed government, which no longer holds its capital and large portions of the country against Iran backed rebels, also cut relations with Qatar, as did the government based in eastern Libya. June 5, 2017 Orlando Workplace Mass Shooting 6 shot, five people killed, including gunman Army veteran John Robert Neumann, Jr., were fatally shot Monday morning in an episode of workplace violence mass shooting at RV awning maker Fiamma in Orlando Florida. The shooter also had knives and was a disgruntled fired employee of the business, Police say there is no connection to terrorism as it appears to be work related.   A discharged 45-year-old former employee shoots and kills five people at a manufacturing business in Orlando, Florida, United States. The shooter took his own life afterwards. Eight others inside the workplace survived. (CNN) (ABC News)
