- ISIS militants abduct 100 Iraqi tribesmen before army offensive Fighters of Islamic State abducted 100 Sunni Muslim tribesmen near the city of Tikrit, Reuters reported, citing local tribal leaders. The abduction came apparently to neutralize suspected opponents before a widely expected army offensive.
- Unidentified drones reappear over Paris for 2nd night Witnesses and security forces reported at least five incidents overnight Tuesday to Wednesday over central Paris, a police source told AFP. Authorities remain unable to catch any of the operators or determine whether the flyovers are malicious in nature.

Graffiti in Hebrew at the scene suggested the attack was carried out by a far-right Israeli group, Reuters reported, citing officials. he mosque’s windows were broken and something burning was thrown inside, according to Mayor No’man Hamdan.
- February 25, 2015 At least 132 ISIS fighters killed in fighting with Kurdish militia – killed since Saturday in fighting with Kurdish militia, Reuters reported. The militia was backed by US-led strikes in the northeastern Syrian province of Hasaka. The Kurdish YPG forces which drove IS from Kobani last month with the help of airstrikes had seized 70 villages in the offensive, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. The northeastern corner of Syria borders territory controlled by IS in Iraq.
- February 25, 2015 Gravel, blocks suspected sources of new water contamination at Fukushima Fukushima nuclear power plant operator TEPCO has been trying to figure out the source of a contaminated water buildup on the roof of one of its buildings, which has been leaking into the sea. On Tuesday it said the probable cause was gravel and blocks that had been laid there, contaminating the water. The water probably then made it into the sea through a gutter when it rained. The Japanese nuclear operator plans to remove the material from the roof by the end of March, as well as take other measures to prevent rainwater contamination. Such incidents have been common at the tsunami-stricken plant in the four years since the catastrophe.

No Connection to terror as mystery tunnel near Pan Am games site stumps Canadian authorities

Nothing so far suggests criminal activity or terrorist intent, police say. Police Deputy Chief Mark Saunders: "There is no criminal offense for digging a hole" The mysterious tunnel measured more than 6 feet in height, nearly 3 feet in width and about 33 feet in length, tunnel was equipped with electricity supplied by a generator, a sump pump to remove water and a pulley system to remove dirt, Saunders said. It likely took more than one person to dig it out by hand. Ice that formed at the end of a hose attached to the sump pump indicates that the tunnel may have been used this winter. "This was built with a considerable amount of sophistication," (like Gaza?) Saunders said. "The individuals responsible for building it clearly had some expertise in structural integrity." Police also found a gas can, food and beverage containers, work gloves, a wheel barrow and moisture-resistant light bulbs in the tunnel, which has been filled in
