1 killed 1 arrested November 16, 2014 Wai Keun Kwok in Bronx Killed in Train Track Pushing Spree With warning or provocation, an apparently deranged Keven Darden pushed Chinese immigrant Wai Keun Kwok off a platform into an oncoming D train in the Brox. It was 8.45am when the father of two Mr Kwok, 61, was with his wife, Yow Ho Lee were waiting for a train to Chinatown to celebrate her birthday. Police were unable to determine a motive as they had no previous conflicts or relationship, and apparently no evidence of an argument, robbery attempt, racial bias or political motives. The African American suspect was caught on CCTV video, and was seen boarding a bus, then going into a store, emerging smoking a cigarette. After a massive manhunt, he was taken into custody 3 days later near his mother's home in the Bronx and indicted by a grand jury on second-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter charges in a hearing where he did not speak [1] In an interview, Described by media as a "violent parolee", "homeless thug", and "crazed career criminal", he had over 30 prior arrests on his record including charges for robbery, assault, drugs. The Longview News-Journal reported that Darden was arrested in Texas for allegedly pouring “an ignitable substance” inside his brother’s Texas home in 2011. He was also wanted in the November 6 pushing of a 51 year old male to the ground o the platform of the West 4th Street station in Greenwich Village which sent him to the hospital for treatment of injury to his hand and back, and had just been arrested and released on November 9 for alleged pickpocketing. Darden's mother told the New York Post she is sorry but she was unable to help her son with mental illness. Nothing was stolen, the police said, nor did anybody see any confrontation between the victim, Wai Kuen Kwok, 61, and his assailant. Mr. Kwok’s killing was the first time since late 2012 that a rider was deliberately shoved to his death by another. Last December 2012 woman, Erika Menendez, was charged with murder as a hate crime in the death of the man, an Indian immigrant, claiming she hated Muslims.

The man accused of pushed a Bronx man into the path of a subway train says he can't remember grisly killing.
Kevin Darden was arrested three days after he was allegedly caught on CCTV shoving Wai Kwen Kwok in front of a train in Highbridge, Bronx, New York City.
Footage showed no fight between Mr Kwok and his assailant leading to the push, and police were unable to ascertain a motive.
