- August 19, 2014 Over A Dozen Witnesses Back Darren Wilson’s Story According to a preliminary report from a St. Louis Post-Dispatch reporter, police say that more than a dozen witnesses back Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson’s version of the events that led to the fatal shooting of Michael Brown. Wilson’s claims match a woman who called herself “Josie” who called into Dana Loesch’s radio show on Friday. CNN confirmed with police officials that what Josie told Loesch matches what Wilson says happened during his encounter with Brown. According to Josie, Wilson, a six-year police veteran, claims Brown assaulted and then “bum rushed” him during their encounter on August 9.

In North St. Louis 25-year-old African American Kajieme Powell tried to rob the convenience store with a knife. The suspect apparently waited for police to arrive, then he refused to put down the weapon when police arrived, and he was shot and killed as he tried to approached them, police said. One witness called the incident “suicide by cop" as the suspect said “shoot me now, kill me now” before he was shot. Like Brown, the suspect was accused of walking out with two energy drinks and a package of pastries without paying.

The small car carrying a nephew of the pope along with the man's wife and two young children slammed into the back of a truck, said Highway Police Superintendent Jorge Raineri. The crash killed the wife and children, one 2 years old and the other 8 months.

Breanna S. Harris, 21, and Desean L. Thomas, 22, were arrested the next night in St. Paul on suspicion of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, while a third suspect is sought.
