  1. Lignet: Ukraine Sought US Aid From Russian Rockets, Got Socks Instead When the Obama administration refused Ukraine’s request for radar-jamming technology in July, the White House once again took a military option off the table just when it could have helped Ukraine turn the tide in the war against pro-Russian rebels.
  2. Israel's endgame in Gaza  it is easy to ascertain where President Barack Obama wants this conflict to end. First, he wants Hamas to remain armed and in control of Gaza... The three soldiers from the Maglan commando unit who were killed on Tuesday in Gaza, were buried in the rubble of a UN clinic. They entered the building to seal a terror tunnel whose entry shaft was located inside the clinic. A Hamas terrorist was inside the tunnel waiting for them. He detonated the building. Works out that Hamas had booby trapped the structure, hiding twelve barrels with eighty kgs. of explosives each, in a wall. In a press briefing following the bombing, Gaza Division Commander Brig. Gen. Micky Edelstein reported that to date Hamas has used more than a thousand IEDs. Its bombs have destroyed thousands of buildings in the Gaza Strip...the amount of concrete Hamas used in its tunnels it could have built 100 kindergartens, two hospitals, twenty schools and twenty clinics... the terror group's practice of using clinics, kindergartens, schools, hospitals and mosques as weapons storage areas, missile launching sites and command centers makes clear that the welfare of Gaza residents doesn't even rank in Hamas's list of organizational goals
  3. Gaza's next disaster: no cement for rebuilding The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) estimate that each of the three dozen underground passages that troops have found so far required 350 truckloads of building supplies. In addition to countless homes and a hospital that Hamas commandeered, the Israeli bombardment has destroyed 50 factories that produced food products, soft drinks, and textiles, among other goods, according to Ali Al-Hayek, vice president of the Palestinian Federation of Industries. But if cement imports resume, what’s to stop Hamas, which runs the enclave, from again taking or smuggling it to rebuild its underground military infrastructure?
  4. 1 killed 3 injured  August 1, 2014 Man Charged in 3-Year-Old's Shooting Death   A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder in the shooting death of a 3-year-old girl Tynirah Borum who was sitting on a front porch when an argument broke out. Three adults were injured, one critically. A cyclist started an argument, then fired three shots from a handgun, shooting the other man in the head, with "stray" bullets (but could be targeted)  hitting the girl in the chest. ap

He entered a home and started traded gunfire with deputies. An innocent homeowner who appeared at the door was mistakenly shot and killed.  A 54-year-old man in the home was shot. Deputies managed to pull him from the doorway, but he died at the scene. Ramirez then barricaded himself in the home, taking a 60-year-old woman hostage who was later rescued uninjured. The parolee was fatally shot after an hours long hostage situation and standoff. Tags: Shot at police, bystander killed, home invasion, SWAT team, auto theft, parolee
  6. Time: Video of massive Taiwan gas explosion Sabotage? Similar to explosions in China, Harlem.
