The leader declared non-muslims have no right to oppose hudud. There are limitation to what they may say, and he does "not see what their contribution is for them to be given so many priviledges in the first place" Indian groups counter that they helped build the nation. UMNO also looked at this plan. Mahathir opposed the plan, but it was said he was not really familiar with it.

New report shows that there was a 4 hour delay until the government fully realized the plane was missing and decided to start a search at 5:30 AM. Radar saw the plane as it turned back, but they were told to stand down because the plane was identified as friendly, and no action was taken.
