January 25, 2013 Vietnamese British Catholic Priest Stabbed In Hue Vietnam Catholic priest Monsignor Peter Dao Duc Diem, 63, was stabbed stabbed in the neck several times and killed in Hue, Vietnam. Doan Christopher Thanh, 27, a British citizen of Vietnamese origin who was Diem's adopted son admitted murdering the priest.  Monsignor Peter Dao fled Vietnam on a boat and settled in England in 1979. The pair had gone there together from Britain to celebrate Tet New Years festival in Vietnam. He worked at the Vietnamese Church in the East End of London.
