  1. 1 truck destroyed by fire Parked Garbage Truck Catches Fire in Chapel Hill TXSunday September 22, 2013 In Chapel Hill Texas, firefighters spent 3 hours fighting a fire that started in a garbage truck that threatened 2 other trucks that were quickly driven away. The cause is being investigated. This occurs about the same time one man set a series of trash can fires near Los Angeles.
  2. 1 injured 2 cars destroyed, suspect not charged Man Saves Drunk Who Crashes His Parked Car Head On  September 22, 2013 David Jensen pulled his SUV over near Grand Forks, N.D., and turned on his flashers in the night to send a text. Then Tracy Ludwig, 49, of Fisher, Minn for "no known reason" crossed over the dividing line and evidently without taking careful aim, crashed head on into the only vehicle she could have hit for miles. Jensen quickly gained his senses after his air bag went off, and dragged the injured woman out of her now burning car just moments before it exploded. The woman faces a recovery and a drunken-driving allegation, but evidently won't be charged with vehicular assault.
  3. 3 killed 1 arrested Muskegon Elks Lodge Shooting September 22, 2013 Two men were shot to death outside the Elks Lodge in Muskegon, Michigan around 2 a.m. Sunday A 20-year-old woman also died after being shot, then struck by a vehicle that was fleeing the scene. Suspect Antonio Keshawn Raglin, 20, of Muskegon is the same suspect police sought for a high-profile Muskegon hit-and-run involving a baby in a stroller. Raglin is lodged in the Muskegon County Jail facing a probable charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm. It was the county's worst multiple homicide in 15 years. A shooting on June of 2013 led to calls to suspend the liquor licence
  4. 4. 2 killed (was missing) 2 arrested Shavelle Oscar Chavez-Nelson Arrested for Burnsville Murder  September 22, 2013 Fatal shooting of 23 yr old Palagor Jobi outside Nina’s Grill in northeast Burnsville near Minneapolis. The incident started as an argument that escalated in the parking lot of Nina's Grill around closing time. The suspect ran away after the shooting. Police searched for more than three hours. Jobi was an Ethiopian community college student with an extensive arrest history in 2 counties including charges of fraud, DUI, minor consumption and probation violations, careless driving, fifth-degree assault and obstruction. Suspect Shavelle Oscar Chavez-Nelson was arrested Sep 24, 2013. Police were also seeking a 20 year old University of Minnesota college student Anarae Schunk was missing after family said they had no contact with her and the 20-year-old Burnsville woman is seen in surveillance video walking into the same Nina's Grill with her ex-boyfriend Saturday the day before. Schunk broke up with the homicide suspect last November after she learned he was living with the mother of his child. Police say she is also inactive on social media. Jobi had been arrested for 3 counts of theft including using credit cards stolen from garages. A previous shooting in Burnville where a car with 2 persons that were shot, one who later died, drove up to a Super America gas station at 2 a.m. was reported on August 13th.
  5. 8 crimes September 22, 2013 to October 8, 2013 crime spree Victims fight back tears recalling Raleigh man who robbed them at ATMs WNCN A man charged in connection with a string of kidnappings and ATM robberies in Raleigh in September and October 2013 is in court and scheduled to be sentenced Wednesday. In October 2013, Walter Kevin Johnson was arrested in connection with eight crimes that occurred between Sept. 22, 2013 and Oct. 8, 2013. Among a number of other charges, he faces nine counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, one count of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, three counts of first-degree kidnapping and three counts of second-degree kidnapping.
  6. 5. 78 Christians killed  September 22, 2013  Pakistan church suicide bombing Matthew Fisher: It’s Open Season on Christians in Syria and Across the Muslim World It seemed this weekend as if it was open season on Christians across the Muslim world. Seventy-eight Christians were slaughtered Sunday by twin suicide bombers at a church where I have attended services several times myself in Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad. Less than 24 hours earlier a gang of Islamic militants from Somalia murdered at least 68 workers and shoppers, including two Canadians, at a mall in Kenya
